I'm way late to this, and this mod is now about 6 years old at the time of my posting, but thank you for this. It works flawlessly.

How on earth is this mod not Endorsed more?

I can't thank you enough for making this mod!
I've always been bothered by the explosive impacts on Gauss Rifles that Bethesda added way back in Fallout 3.

I've tested your mod with both the XM73 Gauss Rifle, the Accelerator, a classic Gauss Rifle inspired unique weapon from the Service Rifle mod, the Gauss Rifle Prototype from the Creation Club and the YCS/186 from the mod New Vegas Uniques, and all work flawlessly!

    Thank you very much!

Just posted a small video showcasing your mod and the compatibility with other mods. Hope you enjoy it!

actually im pretty certain that the explosion is not the round rather the impact site when an object is hit with enough force the difference between something shattering and exploding is really vague and as they say academic (aka a dick swinging contest where the answer isn't really worth anything aside from intellectual curiosity) as for the blue vapour flash of the round well its a slug propelled to spaceball-esque ludicrous speed its typically the outer layers ablating into plasma through air friction that makes the vapour trail and the impact being blue makes sense as the slug suddenly decelerating on impact is gonna make some unusual forces impinge on the material of the bullet, the most basic nuclear bomb you can make fires a lump of isotope into another lump to trigger critical mass (aka the point where through various stresses like pressure kinetic force etc the matter screams F@*k this I'm out and self destructs into photons and energy, nuclear boom) in theory all materials can do this its just that heavier isotopes doe it easier as their closer to the point of critical mass (or as some would call it the F*@K THAT! point) you can trigger thermonuclear fission in custard powder its just an ever increasing amount of energy required to trigger the thermonuclear reaction.

in short a 2 millimetre slug hitting a target at should make a bang for no other reason that the impacted matter should be attaining combustion temperatures due to all the kinetically imparted energy, the round is by the forces involved one Gerbils testicle away from nuclear lunacy.
