Unfortunately, there is a error in one of the material files for the new puddles in Nuka World. The only way to fix this is by adding an ESP. Hopefully this issue gets corrected by Beth or the UFO4P and when it does, I'll update my mod.
Nuke World Users: Remove the previous version and install the new one.
No Nuka World: Use version 1.0. It works for the main game and all of the other DLC.
I think this mod used to remove all fake puddles, but now some of them is still there, it seems. The ones in the roadside of Sanctuary are there, for example. The ones in the middle of the roads are not.
Edit: I've just confirmed (by going through all my mods *zzz*) that it is "Vivid Fallout" causing it - and it so happens that Hein84 actually made an optional file for their mod that fixes it.
Curious. I tried the Vivid's optional file to remove puddles and didnt work, but this mod worked (at least the ones I have tested for now, the ones in the screenshots), simply loading it below Vivid in MO2. Idk, maybe depends on some other mods and stuff.
Same for me, I also use Vivid Fallout and there is the occasional puddle that you can find, but it is added by Vivid so nothing we can do.
I also experienced the same problem with Vivid Fallout's Optional puddle remover, it doesn't work no matter where or how I install it. From what I could find the author of Vivid said he likes the puddles, so use another mod that removes them if you want to.
not working. I have desperados overhaul and PRP. Very strange
edit: despite uninstalling EVERY other mod and trying EVERY mod that removes puddles, including this one, they won't go away >:( I'm at my wits end its so annoying. what could possibly be causing this? the engine /script extender mods that I put directly into the root folder? maybe an INI setting? I'm new to modding fallout, not that new to mo2, which is what I'm using. Any help would be appreciated!
SOLVED: I honestly am not super sure what it does but pasting bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 in [Archive] section of the fallout 4 ini did the trick!
This mod includes a blank texture file named PuddleDecal01_d You can copy and rename the file PuddleBloodDecal01_d to remove blood puddles Blood puddles do not disable with gore disabled
The files go in Data/textures/decal if manual installing I used 2 textures from this mod and puddles are gone I did copy and rename a file to remove blood puddles
I also did a copy rename to blank the freedom trail paint (not brick) FreedomTrailStripe01__d.dds and FreedomTrailStripe01_Short_d.dds in Data/Textures/landscape/road

The files are loose as i couldn't figure out how to pack them and still have them work in game. Advice appreciated.

Is it a case of the cell has to be reset and then the puddles will reappear if the mod's .esp is uninstalled?

Also, thank you for this. Those puddles are eye sore.
