Check out this great video by LightNight, I think he covers everything that I wanted to say about this mod :D

This is an early release so please check back for fixes and give feedback.

Ever wanted to your characters to run through a hail of tracer fire like in the movies? Or *really* light someone up with a minigun? Well now with 'Light em Up' you can. Each bullet has a velocity of around 14000 (.38 rounds, shotgun pellets) to around 18000 (50 caliber), any faster and the Effects tend to strobe, any slower and you have to lead a moving target by several meters.
At longer ranges, depending on your reaction time (215 milliseconds, or about 2 tenths of a second is the average) you'll have just enough time to clench your teeth before those incoming rounds arrive, and with the highly visual tracer effects you'll definitely see them coming. Bullet drop only becomes a factor out to the near limit of combat range, so in most situations you wont have to adjust your aim at all unless you're sniping beyond 200 meters.
Supressed weapons also use projectiles but with no tracer attached.
Turret weapons still use the original turret 'projectile', as there are bugs involved with giving them projectile physics.

Q:What does this mod change, and what compatibility issues are there?
A:It alters the projectiles and projectile meshes, so there shouldn;t be any conflict with custom weapons. As most use the standard weapon projectiles they should fire tracers unless they're set to use custom projectiles of their own. Also I had to change the vertibird projectiles to use the turret style bullet, this is due to them hitting any meshes they're placed behind or next to when using non-beam projectiles, Resulting in fortified turrets being hitting only the fortifications they;re placed behind and vertibirds shooting their own engines out.

Q: The projectiles aren't true to real world physics! Where is the realism??
A: The bullets have realistic feeling weight and speed yes, buuut I'm not really striving for a ballistics simulation, the vanilla bullets were instant hit beam projectiles with a smoke trail, so I've made improvements on that, and opted for visual style first and realism second.
In a game with lasers, harpoons, plasma, radiation beams, portable naval cannons, junk jets, and cryolators, I think a little artistic liscense can be forgiven.

Q: Can you make the tracers be every third/fourth shot fired?
A: I would love to, but currently there is no way to do this in the creation kit. So unfortunately no, it's a game limitation unless someone can think of a clever workaround.

Q: Can you make the tracers less bright?
A: I'm working on it, I'm an amateur 3ds max user. I'll let you know. How succesful my experiments are.
