    Mod looks to be abandoned.

Works perfectly, you just have to do it properly:

Use your mod manager to install the mod, then DISABLE it.

Go into your game and place all the mannequins you want, wherever you want. Once they are placed, save and exit the game.  Go back into your mod manager and re-ENABLE the mod. When you go back into the game, the mannequins will be working fine.

You just can't PLACE any mannequins while the mod is enabled. It will ALWAYS CTD. If you must place mannequins, make sure the mod is DISABLED while you are placing them, then re-enable them after.

Edit: Cleaning DLC is breaking other mods

Will you ever try to fix this mod? I'm going to test it out with a different profile probably trying out the 'place manniquins, save, quit, enable the mod, and go back in' one if it causes CTD.

SKYRIM LIVES! Manniquins in vanilla Skyrim do this too. I actually got used to it and made up stories about what they were doing while I was away. then, when I started modding, one of the mods took that away. meh, the mod was only ok, not something I had to have, so I disabled it to get them moving again.
I wonder if this mod is a modified port from Skyrim and that part of the code survived and works?

I've never had issues with this crashing my game, maybe because i did this.

Just fyi, I have had ZERO issues with placing mannequins and having it kill my game. I haven't had to do any of the disabling and enabling. I just drop a bunch outside (Sanctuary and The Castle are the two places I was setting up shops with them as displays) and then I bring them into "the shop" and clothe them.  What I'm trying to figure out is how I can get the damn hair changed on them.  Mine all spawn with insanely bright red hair.  I'm new to this whole modding my games thing, and tbh, I've gone a little nuts with it all. Lol. Any help would be great, thanks!

This one is quite unstable (crashes like 80% of time while trying to craft mannequins). But its the best at all ><
I hope someday it will be fixed

Nope, they crash constantly even placing outside.

      I'm gonna try Wizard70's idea...

I disabled the mod, placed 43 mannequins, then re-enabled it. It appears to be working fine. It's a bit creepy that they constantly move, but heck, as long as it works, I'll deal with it. This is the only one that even kinda works.

      Thanks.

I prefer your version of this mod over the others, but I too get a ctd when placing, indoors or out.

I'm getting the CTD when building the mannequins outside though. I found the spot between the Sole Survivor's house and the house with the power armor frame. Between those houses, it always CTD, even though its outside in the street.

If I go further down the street, no CTD.

Not CTD here. But here's a couple weird things --
    1. There's sometimes a strange flashing white box on the head when I look at the mannequins from a distance and from a certain angle. I've changed their looks in the SLM, so I'm not sure if it's because their faces are different now or what.
    2. And speaking of different faces: I put three of them side-by-side in my settlement and made individual changes each of their looks. It worked while in was in that in-game session, but when I logged back in the next day, they all just had the looks of the last mannequin I had adjusted. So now they all look the same again. Does the game just see the last one I saved as the default for all of them? Probably so. That's unfortunate.

So far so good, loving this mod. Defo goes on the must haves list. Thanks a lot. I think I remember one like this in Fo3 which held weapons.
The animation is a real nice touch

I've been using this mod for a month now and have yet to have any problems at all. No crash's indoor or outdoor. As a side note AAF uses them in there animations too. A handy partner anytime
