Been using it afew days now. Fucking love it, really makes you s#*! yourself when you see a mutant shooting at you with one or anyone with one really. Very satisfying to use with this mod https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/6003 very meaty sounding. feels really good to mow down enemies with it.
I also feel that the base minigun in FO4 is a joke of a heavy weapon. The Gatling Laser (especially the one dropped by Elder Maxon, modded for the slightly slower but harder hitting build) is much better across the board, and there's really no reason to bring 2 super heavy weapons when one is clearly superior to the other.
I'm looking forward to hopefully WANTING to use the minigun more on my next character. :P
now im not against buffing the minigun, totally for it.. but.. remember this is a minigun so in my opinion i think increasing it's accuracy to make it better at shooting at range shouldn't be a thing, i like the fact the damage way brought up to make it better than an automatic pipe rifle which it should be, though i think it should actually be slightly less accurate as miniguns aren't exxactly the most accurate weapon in the world but honestly i haven't used miniguns alot in FO4, maybe this tweek to the accuracy isn't OP i did find that the spread in the vanilla to be a little... to much... kinda didn't make sense for you to fire straight but you see bullets shooting like arms length to the left of you as it leaves the barrel....
my thoughts on buffing this weapon is to bring the damage down to 20 but ramp up the firerate after the spin up time sooo have damage be... 20 - 25 - 35 for each upgrade to the gun, obviously have the tribarrel higher but slower firerate after wind up and more accurate.
i think these changes would make the minigun an amazing pick up for heavy weapon users at high levels rather then them dropping it for a missile launcher instead when in the higher levels.
Playing on Very Hard, Level 93, buffed out with X-01 armor, and when an enemy has a minigun I still need to take cover because it eats health as fast as... well a minigun.
It's satisfying when I shoot the real-life equivalent of 2000 rounds a minute that enemies melt before it even on Very Hard.
The next step is to get a mod where I can buy more 5mm ammo haha.
Totally agreed the vanilla minigun is a joke. It becomes useless after like level 10 and that's just silly.
With or without the Heavy Gunner perk, the minigun easily stands with the quad rocket launcher and the fat man as a viable late-game heavy weapon.
Good balance. Really good. Better, then 0.50 minigun mod, if you ask me. So, here is a question: could you do the minigun spin-up, ready to fire any second, while right button is hold? If you could do this feature, mod surely would rock. )
I've been using version 1.1a for the longest time (the 2x damage version) and I only just noticed there's a 1.2 that adds AP lol. My question is, does that version do 2x damage or 3x like the "normal" version?

A nice addition to this mod would be the optional removal of the spin-up time, which I've always hated about miniguns.
