This is a mod that I've been looking for, several times I've encountered a terminal that was designed not to be hacked, meaning a word that had 0 likeliness only to have a word below it with one likeliness that had the exact letter in line with the 0 likeliness that I just selected. another instance when I chose a word and there were no other words what so ever that had anything in common with the word I chose.
Could you make a version where, with the appropriate perk, the terminals just automatically unlock once you access them? Guessing a password really isn't hacking, so might as well just skip the whole thing.
You're right, the hacking game in Fallout 3, New Vegas, Fallout 4 has never been fun to most people.
I think it's been a dilemma for Bethesda for these years. Fallout 4's tutorial description for it does not match the the actual mini-game and even the people who "get it" then are like "meh".
For the behaviour you are requesting the scripting and Creation Kit knowledge involved is beyond my level of skill as each time I've tried to mod in the Creation Kit for more complex scripting it offers external/internal scripts and then for me it gets very confusing.
Hopefully someone runs with your idea of "Unlocked Terminals with Perk"
