This might be. Stupid question but does this edit armor individually or all at once? Like I'm working on an outfit mod and was wondering if I have to add anything to have it affected by this mod. I saw your other post about using the hidden power armor perk to achieve the weight reduction affect.
Hey deathclay I absolutely love this mod but is there a way to make it to where when i get in power armor that it doesn't start counting the weight of my armor again. I have the far harbor edition installed and I removed everything in my inventory except for my armor and when I'm in power armor it says i have like 76 weight and then when I leave the power armor it drops to 0 weight. I have 2 ranks of the perk.
I like the mod, but I tweaked it a bit to suit my taste, as I wanted access sooner to running while overencumbered and without using Action Points (in my modded game I don't spend action points sprinting in general outside of combat so I wanted to at least be able to run -but not sprint- while overencumbered without using action points to not have to run -> drain AP -> stop -> regen AP -> run again, etc etc etc). As a result I had to restructure the next ranks a bit:
Rank 1 [STR 6]: What are you, part pack mule? Gain +25 to carry weight and all apparel will weigh 50% less when equipped. You can also now run when overencumbered without using Action Points.
Rank 2 [STR 6, LVL 10]: You now have +50 to carry weight and all apparel will weigh 75% less when equipped.
Rank 3 [STR 6, LVL 20]: You gain +75 to carry weight and all apparel is completely weightless when equipped. When overencumbered you can now fast travel.
Rank 4 [STR 6, LVL 30]: Who needs all that clanking metal anyway? You gain an extra +100 to carry weight when not wearing Power Armor. (normal mode) / When overencumbered, you will not become injured (survival mode).
Rank 5 [STR 6, LVL 40, Far Harbor DLC]: You gain an extra +200 to carry weight when not wearing Power Armor.
This way, I get access to running while overencumbered earlier (rank 1) and to fast travel as well (rank 3), I can get up to rank 3 without needing to specialize in regular armor necessarily BUT if I do decide to continue getting ranks I get two very juicy increases for not using Power Armor, as rank 5 now adds a big buff.
Anyway, despite me changing it quite a bit, I still found your mod super useful and it was easier to edit it since the way you made it was pretty straightforward. Endorsed. :)
Is there a way to alter the skill in console? Its glitched in my game, I had my perk maxxed before installing and this mod broke it. I see the icon, but I cant put point into it and it makes an annoying sound everytime I ver my mouse over it.
Does this require a new game? Because I've tried this and two other Strong Back mods and none worked. I even added a point and there was no change...meaning something was wrong because there should have been some change.
Most likely you probably have a conflict or are using the wrong version. If you have the DLC, use that version, if not, use the non-DLC version. And if you're using any mods that alter the perk trees at all, specifically Strong Back, then this mod needs to be loaded after those mods for this one's effect to show up in-game.
This is amazing. I was wondering how did you achieve the weight reduction effect on equipped armor? And one more question - would it be possible to have weight reduction perks for other stuff like weapons, ammo, food/drink and aid/chems? Or is it only possible to apply this effect on currently equipped items?
There is a entry point function called "Mod armor weight" which is part of a hidden perk which makes power armor work. I just copied this to work outside of power armor.
Unfortunately there is no such entry point for weapons, ammo or chems etc so it can't be done in that way at least.

Should be compatible with all outfit or armor mods.

Update: nvm, I got it. I removed the condition checking if the player is inside Power Armor:

i get the icon being white and unusable, and i have in fact tried it with both base version and far harbour
*edit* forget this. turns out i wasnt aware that the versions are one or the other. using both does not work*
