CTD every time I try to read a comic. The only way to even get them in my inventory w/o CTD is to use the take all function on the container they are in.
The normal version Comes with a 15% chance and only in a few special containers, like lockers. So you can't find/loot them everywhere.
What you can do is to install the mod manually and after this patch the file with the 70% Chance-Patch. It didnt't felt like 70% after all, but they were dropping.
Go to Gunners Plaza and look for the green foot lockers (don't forget the ones on the exterior roof too). I only found comics in these (and all other green gunner foot lockers).
The 70% doesn't seem to work at all. In about 4 hours of playing, a lot of that in buildings, I found only 1 comic so far. And that was even before I added the 70% patch, Since the patch (about 3 hours gameplay), I didn't find a single one.
<TL;DR> There may be a small issue with how/where the real comics leveled list is added to the containers. The Container object has a list of leveled lists and LLRealComics was added to one of these sub-lists. In the case of the "Loot_Raider_Trunk_Boss" (Steamer Trunk) object it has a leveled list called "Container_Loot_Raider_Boss" to which the LLRealComics list was added. The thing is that the record for "Container_Loot_Raider_Boss" has 9 entries in it and a max count of 4, now depending on how the list is processed, if 4 items are selected from the other leveled list entries first then the LLRealComics list may never be looked at, so the true probability drops from 15% to below 7% if the leveled list entries are selected randomly and far worse if selected sequentially. For the other containers the number of leveled list entries and max counts varies so the drop in probability will vary between the container object types (ie. there are 7 types of Steamer Trunks each with their own lists and therefore probabilities). (NB. This assumes that the "LVLM - Max Count" value does limit the number of items that can be selected from the list.) I've just created a compatability patch for my own use between Salvage Rewards and Real Comics (well.. the replacer version from the LL web site) and have added the LLRealComics list to the containers in the same way as Salvage Rewards added its list (of resourse shipments), so hopefully when I get a chance to test it I'll have the comics turning up everywhere. </TL;DR> Edit: 09 Jul 2019 - I'm using the 30% esp and with my patch to the Container object I'm averaging about one per hour of game play, though I did manage to find two real comics in Hubris Comics.
Thank you wfc964 for that explanation of the Max Count field. I was having an issue related to that, had a feeling that's where my problem was, but couldn't find any official documentation on it for some reason. Thanks.
Great mod, but I personally don't enjoy the hassle of searching every container in the commonwealth. Is there any way I could have all of the comics instantly or at least have a list of every place they can spawn?
I really, really, really want this mod to work!!! But I have played countless hours, on four different characters / locations, and have not had a single one of these comics spawn in containers. I also have Comic Collector installed, and I find those comics all over the place. I have Real Comics set at the 70% probability of finding comics, so I should have found some by now. I don't want to just get rid of this mod, but do not have any idea how to get it to work??!! I read another post about the possibility of other mods conflicting with the leveled lists for this mod - has anyone discovered a good load order that will increase the chances of this one working, or any other solutions / suggestions??

1. Comic Collector + Comic Collector - Base Object Swapper (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/68061) - Replaces "ComicBurnt0X" in the world.
2. MDR Crossover Comics + MDR Crossover Comics - Base Object Swapper(https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/68069) - Replaces "ComicBurnt0X" in the world.
3. Real Comics + Real Comics - Base Object Swapper (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/68063) - Replaces "ComicBurnt" in the world.
My question:
Can these 3 work together OR only two of the following: Comic Colector/MDR Crossover Comics (ComicBurnt0X) + Real Comics (ComicBurnt)?
Thank you in advance for any insights regarding this! 🤝
All three have Base Object Swapper addon mods made for them, search "comic swap" in the nexus search bar.
I see you already found it.10% is the chance the comics will show in game. 100% = always will appear!
