Lots of changes in v.1.3. It's probably twice as "big" as 1.2?
    Feedback is very welcome.

    Achtung, a German translation!

It is hard to explain how amazing this mod is.  By adding worthless junk to the loot lists, this mod changes looting from a a fairly passive activity into a more interactive (and dare I say immersive) experience of actively looking through ruins for useful items.  This, in turn, makes actually finding something useful that much more exciting and fun.  On top of that, the execution is brilliant.  The worthless items are varied and funny enough to make the entire game more fun.  The humor contained in the item names captures the essence of the original fallouts (I and II) in a way that few other mods do.  Fantastic job and thank you for sharing!

The following is meant to be constructive feedback. It is not a request for the author of this mod to do anything. It is a response to the author's comment on the description: "Hmmm, so many views, so few DLs.".

I believe this mod would be appealing to a lot more people if the items added were all immersive. A lot of the items are just unimmersive synonyms of the word "crud" or "rubbish". I can imagine not many people find the items with ironic or funny names to be immersive. I'm not against humor, I just appreciate immersion and added value more than humor when it comes to mods. I suppose this mod does live of to it's name though.

If someone doesn't like a particular item added by the mod they can remove it from the leveled lists using fo4edit.

    Examples of unimmersive items:
    - Help! I'm trapped in a lunchbox factory!
    - Night of Joy Broom
    - Perfect Crap
    - Noxious Trumpery
    - Legendary Useless Rubbish

Items below aren't necessarily unimmersive on their own, but finding recurring instances of them everywhere is not immersive:
    - PhD Thesis (Final Draft!)
    - Dear John Letter
    - Divorce Papers

    Examples of ironic items:
    - Expired Massachusetts Driver's License (every driver license is expired 200 years after the war)

Ideas if you, or anyone else, decided to create a new version:
    - The crud component is not needed.
    - The many items synonymous with "crud" or "gunk" are not needed and feel like filler content.
    - Some items can yield no building components but may be somewhat valuable to traders.
    - Some damaged items can yield some useful components instead of nothing at all. For example, a "Gutted Telephone" could yield only fiberglass since someone broke open the phone case just to take the circuitry and copper.
    - Consistency with wording. Example: "Rusted Zippo" and "Rusty Injector". Use either "rusted" or "rusty" consistently. "Rusted" sounds better in my opinion.
    - This has been addressed in earlier comments, but don't add a space before the name of each item.

This feedback may not be suitable for an update to this mod. It's probably better suited for a new mod that can hopefully have a more successful launch than this one did. Maybe call it "Immersive Junk and Damaged Items".

I have to say, if there was some way to make the "Help! I'm trapped in a lunchbox factory!" drop exclusively from Vault-Tec lunchboxes, I'd laugh my ass off if I saw that in game.

I completely agree with everything in this post. I got excited when I saw this mod, but when I saw the names of some of the items I was disappointed and decided not to download it. So many of the item names are too goofy or not lore friendly for my taste. It's a shame, because I would really like a mod like this with better names for useless stuff.

      Thanks for the feedback.
The short version is, I like it the way it is. I completely disagreed with everything in the OP.

I can easily believe that some of the items drop too frequently, but I did try pretty hard to avoid it, especially for the (pretty rare) goofy items. (The bland, repetitive leveled lists in the game don't make it easy.) And I did try to keep it lore-friendly and in keeping with Fallout humor. You might be surprised how hard it is to come up with a couple hundred useable names for a relatively few unique objects, and where all the objects are supposed to be worthless and unrecycleable.

Regardless, I say give the mod a try anyway. (I'm pretty sure) it's completely safe to uninstall.

Completely agreed. Initially the mod seemed appealing to me because it'd actually force me to sift through the garbage and think about what I want to pick up instead of just pressing R. Unfortunately too many items, as you rightfully pointed out, are weirdly named, even for Fallout standards.

Wish there was a more 'serious' version of the mod, because the idea behind is indeed interesting.

I would also be more inclined to download a more serious version of this. I feel with this level of immersion, the more serious tone fits the target a bit more.

I gotta say if this mod added scrap components or had a little sell value to them it would of had a lot more downloads people like to loot EVERYTHING for a reason if thats to sell scrap or use for decor or put into a collection box

But that would defeat the purpose.

BTW I made another mod that does that:
      Various Junk
      https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/36887

And BTW thank you for reminding me of this thread and my aging promise to make a slightly more serious version of the mod.

Oh my god I found it. I finally found it. I've been looking for this exact mod for about four years now, since I saw it once as a ghost on bethesda.net (or at least a mod VERY similar to it, that no longer exists there). Hell, I could have seen it in a video on YouTube. But I remembered this mod. It's stuck in the back of my head ever since I saw the 'rusty injector' and 'expired coupons' as an item that could be picked up in a trash can. I even fell in love with the more silly items because it fell perfectly into my own sense of humor (to the point where I've done similar in mods for other games, LOL! To think that it was this mod that gave me the inspiration and I didn't even realize it).

This mod is literally the only mod I have ever wanted in my load order, and for so damn long. When I tell you I've tried every single combination of words possible to try and find this mod on Google and on the Nexus, I mean it. And I never was able to. I literally just happened to stumble upon it while browsing through nexus' "Immerssion' filter. And how stupid of me to not do it sooner.

Hopefully this mod still works and even if it doesn't I'll do the work myself in xEdit to make it work. I'm so glad I finally found it again. I loved this mod. I love this mod. I will love it until the day the nexus implodes and Bethesda Softworks ceases to exist. I'll love it until the sun burns out.

I know I sound like extremely dramatic but I am being honest when I say it's taken me this long to find this mod again. I'm never letting it go now šŸ„¹

And who knows. Maybe it was a different mod that added in useless junk items, but if it exists, I certainly haven't seen it again.

love the mod together with various junk mod, don't understand why they are not made into one bigger mod but i merged them in my game.
Only wanted to say it's a great mod, only thing i dislike is that it uses vanilla models, even retextures would be cool to see.
    But great anywaysĀ”

    Idea... Worthless Clothing and Armour.

What Clothes and Armour you find in the Wasteland, and on the enemies you kill is worthless, and Disease Ridden.

    - Zero Scrap
    - Zero Worth
    - Breaks after a couple of hits ...... mods do this, such as Combat Strip Lite ( on LL )
    - Wearing it gives you a Disease Effect, also drains your Stamina if its Blood Soaked, from someone you killed.

    Just an idea... :)

GREAT mod! I have to pause, and look at what I'm grabbing from containers now. Sometimes, I still pick up crap by mistake... and then I decorate my place with it. Just like IRL! Thanks for this!

Ugh, this is just a bunch of useless garbage. I love it!
Also, it reflects our legacy as a society: just lots of useless trash adding nothing to the world, it suits perfectly for a realistic post-apocalypse world

Great Idea! Can't wait to play with this crap! It sounds really immersive having to dig through the trash and all the useless junk to get to some good stuff instead of opening a container or a safe and finding mostly useful items in there all the time, so this mod is truly appropriate for the FO world. :)
