Love the updates, just a few things i wanna say. I still think that the AER14 experimental parts should be a reward and not craftable, and the way i see it is there ever a situation where you would use the AER10 or AER11 barrel instead of just the regular long barrel?
Edit: Maybe a small brotherhood quest to get the gun, there is a voice line for the male protagonist that goes "You made a neat gun, thanks" and that could be edited down to "neat gun, thanks"
Ok I'm having a weird issue. The mod page states "Most parts can be crafted at the weapons work bench with the appropriate Perk level. The AER14 parts have to be summoned by console for now." I can craft all the parts (AER14 included) at the work bench except for the AER9. I can't even find the AER9 parts with a console command. I've read through the mod page a couple times carefully. What'd I miss?

Yeah, the AER9 is the standard lazer rifle, but you know what There isn't a AER7, aka the lazer pistol with the silver color, and I think it should clearly less powerful, but also way faster in terms of rate of fire and lighter, and even cheaper to make.
Noticed that the AER14 laser effects revert back to the old crazy looking ones when you put the new beam splitter on it. Not sure that's supposed to be happening.
Status: General: For some reason tags refuse to work. The AER11 Battle Rifle: Basically done The AER12 Specialist Rifle: Some design and texturing pending. The AER14 Prototype: For some reason it's not spawning where it should. Some effects are still the wrong color. Shifter Optics: Done Focused Beam Splitter: Needs better stats and texture. Light Barrel: Basically done.
The problem with theese add-ons you are sugesting is that they do notfollow the laws of physics. Contrary to popular beliefs lasers are not bolts, they are a continuous stream of light. That being said, the lasers in Fallout 4 also breaks some of the laws of physics, since lasers can only be seen where it collides with an object, you can see the beam itself.
Just a heads up, if you intend for the AEP14 barrel to be "the strongest" then you should have it fire violet rays. Violet is the strongers version of "visible light" that the human eye can percienve and thus is the strongest laser type.
Thanks for the advice, I considered it, but in the end it's supposed to be as similar to the gun from New Vegas as I can make it. In the EVE mod you could charge shot and that looked violet. But I can't manage to make it charge shot, much less have two different beam colors.
Are you sure UV (ultra-violet lasers) are stronger? I think "X-Rays lasers" (green) are one step from the enigmatic Space-age "Incinerator laser beams"
I mean if we're including non visible electromagnectic radiation then gamma would be the strongest, as for lasers which are in the spectrum of visible light then Violet, not ultra violet is the strongest. Everything under og above visible light is non visible to the human eye.
