    is this gun part of the leveled list what make it show up on npcs and enemy's if not can you update it to do so?

    aw man, for an engineering draughtsman like me, that gif is just porn <3

    anyway, this is great man, it looks sooooo awesome in first person view!
    only thing missing are proper textures, keep up the good work!

      I don't plan on making it fit with the animations and holding positions if it means adding/distorting the model too much. Might wait and see if custom animation become a thing in the future.

      The model right now is based on pictures of originals as much as possible. Some of the 3d models have some slight mistakes that would not be great to copy (mine is not perfect either), or look like a modernized version. The best 3d model so far is http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:830405

      I like the other mod too and wish them the best.

      Criticism is more than welcome as it falls under two categories. Constructive and therefore helpful, and insulting and can just be ignored.

    can you give it the smg holding animation?

      The smg version in this mod uses all of the smg animations, including holding the weapon. None of the pictures show the smg animations though.

      Now that there is an animation kit out, in the future I won't be making different versions with different animations, it will just be the Combat Rifle animations until it comes time to make custom animations.

    As for weapon mods, I see no problem adding modern "tactical" mods, like an m4 style stock, modern scopes, front grips, etc. Right now there's a company making a reproduction STG that takes 5.56, 7.62x39, and .300 blackout, and they offer it with rail mounts, threaded barrel with short, medium, and long lengths, and an AR style stock (As well as an ak/mp40 style underfolding stock) as options.

      That's a very fair point, the game is set in the future so these things would be available. I will be making mods for it but right now the mesh needs to be optimized a bit and then the textures re-done.

    Is the receiver upgradable to .308?
    The original, as I imagine you know, was chambered in 7.92 x 33 Kurz. The bullet weight, at app. 125 grains, is more than twice as heavy as the 5.56 round, at app. 55 grains. Muzzle velocity is less for 7.92, so the energy was _similar_ with the 7.92 beating out the 5.56 by a small margin.
    So, having the receiver upgradable to .308, would not be game breaking.

    Great looking weapon!

      There are no mods available in game for it yet. I've just been focusing on getting the mesh and textures looking ok.

      There will be various receivers chambered for different calibers, and if it's integrated with New Calibers then there will be a 22 and 7.92x33 version. A 308 will be nice too and probably not too over powered because with an automatic weapon people will have to watch their ammo reserves carefully.

    is there plans for the proto M-16 shell ejection port built into this as well?

      Yes. In version 0.1 I got a bit confused by a certain picture and ended up messing up the rear sights instead of making an ejection port cover. For now it has been scrapped. When it is added I don't know but it will be there for the version 1 release.

      Ah I see! Just keep in mind on the STG the ejection/dust cover flips up not down like on the M-16!

      I've decided to make the MG42 high poly and low poly mesh and upload it as a modders resource. This shouldn't take long, the stg 44 model was less than a weeks work all up. If no one uses it by the time the holidays come around again then I'll look into making it into a full mod.

      Your download history of this file says that you have the version 0.15 that was not working. Try downloading 0.15 again and it should work.

      I just did thanks, really awesome mod really fracking awesome love it this goes well with my ss uniform. now someone has to make the g43, mp 40, mg34, 42, and mg 18, fg 42, the Stielhandgranate panzerphaust and Panzerschreck there is another one out of the stg 44 but this one takes the cake

      Sam Fisher is working on one that looks better than mine, that's worth checking out too. I'd love to see the mg42, and the 34 if someone can give it the double trigger action. The version 0.15 that wasn't working and has since been removed did make it a standalone weapon in the workbench, but since it also made the firearm invisible it had to go.

      I was not originally planning any more mods. In my first and only play through I've only just defeated Kellog, but before continuing I wanted a proper AR like the STG 44. Since there weren't any STG 44 mods out at the time I just had to make my own. But making this mod has been fun so far and a great learning experience, was thinking a Luger next if there aren't any out already.

      there is a luger and waltherp38 mod out there as well as the c96 mauser,
      I am more insterested in the g43 and mp 40 or panzerphaust and Panzerschreck.

      also i tried the other guys mod it seems ok the details are way off compared to a real stg 44 it looks more like flat aluminum sheeting covering the rifle with no indentations this is why i like your mod good job.

      also wilkl you add the zf4 scope to it?

      ps there is a quick reload animation for the last update you have done. for now i will revert back to the first mod you have uploaded.

      Thanks, I'm glad you like my model. But I still have to give credit to nolifepothead and the others that worked on that mod. They clearly put a lot of time and effort into it and they have a much more complete mod than mine. I've only been focusing on the model and textures so far so balancing the weapons reload times and damage etc will come later.

      And yes there will be a scope for it, including the vampir, but I can't say when as these things take time.

      anothering thing will you be adding you're own sound files for the rifle i can suggest getting the stg sound from the first cod and cod uo or red orchestra 1.

      p.s there is a quite a few hints of red on the body as well unless that is texture detailing.

      I really like the CoD:WaW sound, but I don't know if that would be something I'm allowed to use.

      The red will be gone soon, it is just the projection cage for texture map baking clipping through the model.

      This maybe hard to believe but i go own an stg 44 and the only way to put it is has more of a clack then a boom its kinda hard to say the stg 44 in cod uo is almost spot on as well as red orchestra first one if you want i can give you my email address?

      Thanks for the sound. It is a bit tricky to work out how to implement it but the sound will probably be in v 0.25. I couldn't work it out in time for 0.2.

    Once you're out of the alpha stages, have you thought about integrating this into New Calibers or having some kind of compatibility patch? That mod already has the necessary ammo.

      Yes once the mesh and textures are looking better then things like receivers chambered for other calibers, scopes and barrels will come about. New Calibers would probably help with that as it would be nice to have one chambered in the original 7.92x33 and a modern replica in .22.
