silly question but.....does this work along other artillery mods? It would be cool to have an abrams guarding the road to the sanctuary while using the 155 howitzer mod for the castle's artillery.
i for one don't want it, the tank mesh in the game sucks balls and looks like it was designed by someone who knows nothing what so ever of armor design or vehicles.
Somewhat. But also one has to keep in mind Fallout 4 tech branched differently than the real world. Its very possible those tanks are fusion powered, like the cars of the era.
Also with the advent of power armor, which turns a single soldier into a walking tank...its entirely possible these tanks were designed with a different combat role in mind.
I would like to think that, considering how almost every 'Fusion' device in fallout was in fact a clever lie covering up fission power, and that everything explodes with a radioactive explosion that all the vehicles are actually fission powered, but in regards to the tank it looks very much like a pulp M 60 Starship, the old Patton tank but obviously changed for fallout, its got mine clearing equipment on the tracks, and what is either mortars or inputs for fuel cells on the sides (go ahead take a look for the weird mortar things on the left side, they look retractable too) I would make me think that even in the fallout world tanks had there place, power armor is great but was never deployed in large numbers, so the majority of fights were probably still with tank on tank, I would love to see how the Chinese tanks looked, and some of there fighters because the stingray looks awesome.
But this is all in my head anyway, so grain of salt, this model is still pretty cool regardless, would love to see anything come of it with further development.
The fallout chinese tanks had scatter lasers mounted as a main weapon and drove at drill esque tracks. Just look for them from the operation anchorage DLC in fo3
Operation Anchorage as a simulation wasn't entirely accurate for what actually happened. There are several unimplemented voice clips(along with a few things actually in game) that implied that at least part of the simulation was a fabrication by General Chase including those tanks.
The 'victory' at the end of the simulation(I.E. the final battle, Chinese surrender, and the 'commando' you tak ethe role off) were the false aspects. The tanks and Chinese tech were accurate.
I've also made a new texture for the Tank, a grey camo and Tan camo version. And working on a vanilla tank replacer. Once done, with the authors permission I'll release it as a mod.
Perhaps this is a very obvious thing, but euhm... since when is a Abrams tank a artillery vehicle? Also since when can it lob rounds like a artillery unit? Both breaking reality as lore
It would be nicer to see this as drivable vehicle (mount idea) so that you can drive around while using this beast. Also would be more logical at the same time

Not in fortifications.
Not in vehicles.
not in special (where the 155mm howitzer is)
where the **** is it in workshop menu???

They remind me more of soviet AA's. Zeus namely.
Just my two cents. ^_^

EDIT: Oops, meant to have this in the thread below but since I can not technically delete a post, I will just go with this.

They cannot even properly implement pump shot guns or reload animations for lever actions.
