Hope everyone enjoys this patch and uses it to make many new and shiny paintjobs, not being literal with the "shiny". That is only because the 1st two armor's "i.e Combat, and Midwestern" Had the _n.dds and _s.dds files, while the other ones didn't xD
Also, you never notice how big of a midsection the Midwestern power armor is until the paint is changed to white xD
Various parts are supported aswell, including: Spartan's decal *Yes you heard that right!!* Spartan's Headlamp and Headlamp's Glass.
Currently unsupported pieces *out of lazyness xD*: -None I know of
Any unsupported pieces I will work on getting them fully supported for everyone's use.
Also this patch doesn't provide any assets from any of the supported PA, all this patch does is provide the compiler with the proper paths, so if you want to make a paint for a custom PA make sure to have that Custom PA already installed, so the keywords you edit in fo4edit will work.
--Update 1.02 -Added support to three more power armor, specifically these ones: --DogtoothCG and Unoctium's Enclave-X-02 Power Armor --EdibleGrenade12 and Unoctium's Submisible Power Armor --VISaberToothIV's Liberty Prime Power Armor
step 2 is confusing the heck out of me, for example i am trying to make a paintjob for the navi power armor. What do i do with the copied part from the materials json file? do i put it in the paint job json file? and step 3 copy one of the premade folders from the compiler. Do you mean from the original compiler or one of the folders you gave us?
sorry if i seem a bit like an idiot. i am when it comes to coding edit: i messed around for a bit and got it working, what i did is i used your template as a template
More or less exactly what you could do Use my examples as templates and edit to your liking
And I will see what I can do to explain the steps better
--UPDATE-- Secret project finished, while bugs are tested I shall do a video about it, detailing both how to use the compiler, how to use it with the custom patches, how to make your own patches, and a very special spotlight on what has taken up most of my time
My main reason I did this was because of the lack of support xD But luckily the crazy theory I had was correct, and what I heard was true, the materials.json and the materials folder were just templates, and how Expired coded it was genius!! The way he coded it made it so easy to adjust, just add some new categories in the materials.json, and other steps and bam works like a charm xD
And all the steps I did to add support to custom power armor are included as steps 1-5 in the included readme.
Awesome. Thanks again for this. I've had some ideas I wanted to do for custom PAs but the limitations of not being able to truly do stand alone paints was disappointing. This is great.
Lol, yep. I have a huge project I'm working on and was considering adding some of the custom PAs. But it was impossible at the time. However thanks to your work, I can now plan ahead to some special updates.
