Ok as i have been trying to finish up with the update there is two things i done. 1. Indestructable Trees - Done 2. No crop npc animation - Done But you still have to assign someone to a tree. That's how it works for producing an item.
And NPCs since they are assigned to a work object, but do not have an animation, They sometimes might stand in front of the tree, admiring it's view for a while. Or they will for a brief moment try to walk over the tree. Give it 4-5 seconds they will find something else to do.
Well it's not ideal i know. I will put up another file without the harvesting features. Just simple trees that will give you happiness
They both have Indestructable Trees. They both have reduced seed requirements for trees. They both have reduced scrap wood value.
1.1 -Reduced number of harvest components. -You still need to assign someone to a tree. -One settler can only attend one tree at a time. In order to be multiple i have to add either Tree NPCs or FOOD keyword to trees. one is long work for such achivement the other is ridiculous. -Assigned NPCs won't seem like they are working on that tree. They will mind their own bussiness but you'll get your harvest.(think of it as you have given one of your settlers a job only involves watering a tree, maintaining it's beauty he/she is so dedicated to this job because they have never seen such green tree. (that is right if you think about it) This settler can only think about this spesific tree and nothing else.)
For some reason its not working for me. Settlers don't assign to the tree. At least when I look at it in the build menu it shows no settler assigned to it.
Nice trees but like so many others, no harvest. I get one harvest immediately after planting, then never another. I don't see the point of switching to Lite since the build requirements are the same. Unless with Harvest not working I don't get happiness?
I just installed because I liked the look of the trees in the pics and had the same issue others mentioned regarding Assign/Harvest not working, so I just went with the Lite version to get the trees. The seed crafting/planting works fine, but the ingredients differ from those listed on the Description page. They do all appear on the Chemistry crafting bench, but you have to scroll down to see the last one which is 'wild mutfruit.' One seed requires the following ingredients:
2- Carrot flower 2- Wild Mutfruit 2- Hubflower 2- Tato flower 2- Nuclear Material 2- Acid 2- Fertilizer 2- Purified Water
I had no desire to tree farm, so the Lite version actually works perfect for me. The planted trees do show Happiness, but can't confirm how much. If you're looking for a really cool tree mod, Bonsai - Potted Trees by Zorkaz is a winner!
Sadly harvest\workforce management doesn't work, it seems this mod was broken by changes introduced to *support* DLCs, (automaton or Contraptions) i.e. it won't work even in game without those active.
This is a nice idea, but cant get it to work.I have all the ingredients, have rank 4 in chemist.I'm getting the "you lack the requirements to create this item" message. It's telling me I need atleast one rank in chemist oddly enough.Have tried deleting and reinstalling three times along with looking for updates, and the result is the same.
I have the same problem, have al the required ingredients and the chemist perk. However it tells me I lack the requirements. Am I missing something here?
I have to scroll down to see the entire list of ingredients on my PC, and I am usually missing something on the very end of the list. *shrug don't know if that helps any.
Same for me. good idea, but it doesnt work; got chemist rank too even if your mod say i aint got it......, scrap for building those seeds but nothing. too bad. menu appear correctly, nothing else.. useless for me. regrets
* I have the seeds. Confirmed. * I went through the Work Shop Menu options and cannot find my seeds to plant. .. I have some on me physically and some in the workshop, since I was not sure how that worked. So I erred on both sides.
I am answering this incase someone comes here in the future. The trees are at the end of the resources tab in workshop mode. This tab has water, food etc.
Hello! I really enjoy your mod so far, the only problem I have is that I can't seem to assign any settlers to it as a resourse. Is there any way to fix this or is it just how it is? Cheers
Really nice trees! I tried the full version first, but then ran into some trouble with the farming mechanism. Not to mention it turns out I can just make bigger trees with more seeds. So I switched to light, and am now enjoying these beautiful new trees I'm planting in Sanctuary! Thank you for this mod!
Thank you for the up-date, I'm sure plenty of people will enjoy having options.
Personally, I'm going to stick with the original for now. I already thought of some cool ideas for using the animations to help make things look more alive just through set dressing. As for the destructible tress, since tree repair services are a real thing, they don't bother me.
I'm in the middle of sorting out my mods for a new game, but once I've got something built worth showing, I would be happy to upload some screen shots or a tour video if you're interested.
If you wanted to add the trees to the crop list, but feel weird about it because people don't eat wood, here are a few ideas I had on the subject: 1. Maybe they're a variety of gum tree? This works well with them already providing adhesive as a harvest.
2. Nut trees maybe, you wouldn't really need to change the texture because nuts are small and blend in irl anyways, but might need to add an edible to the harvest and I can't think of anything appropriate that's already in game.
3. Fruit trees, apple would be the easiest probable since there is already an edible in the game you could use by just adding dandy-boy apples to the harvest. This one would definitely be improved by a minor texture change. My recommendation? Just slap some of the red and green tato textures onto the trees.
1. That was definetly my first idea; Variety in trees. Apple trees, Pine trees all of it. I know everybody wants it.
Let me explain why trees cannot be maintained multiple like crops; You noticed that they all have one thing in common : "Produces Food" This is more than a mere keyword in CK. It is also a type of NPC. Settlers you assign to farm objects somehow turn in to these NPC types(I may be mistaken) and in these NPCs there is a keyword "MultipleResource"something. Which tell the crops that this NPC can handle multiple units with FOOD keyword in them.
So as you can see it was not just the texture work or custom meshes but this problem as well. But i am working on it. I started to create whole gardening project. Which i'm thinking of adding custom trees, and plants. Plants that you will gather antiseptic for allies, poison for foes. Also you will be able to make fusion-seeds, Like pine trees with apples. Or something that is not available in real life
Also process of growth. That is the final and most-crucial for me i need to see them grow. You will see your tree's growing process. These are the plans but they won't be done quickly as i ve got some problems with nifskope. As soon as i figure that out i will add the Fruit Trees and Pine trees with resins.
