ATTENTION! If you have large fps drops - download loose files version and disable esp plugin. This will help, but the static objects will not be changed.
It doesn't work. I' have tried loose / ba2 / original / performance version.
I have a GTX 1080 + i7 6700k + 32gb Ram. Without this mod i can play at 60fps with other mods too. With this i get drops below 60. I need to cap to 30 if i want a stable framerate. The problem is that in certin points the framerate goes to 25-25! I don't think it's playable for now. I will keep in my NMM disabled and i will wait for a performance fix.
I have a AMD R9 290x 8gb and the slowest i5, and ENB (which also costs FPS), and my shadorange set at 6000, and i have a sloid 50~60 fps allthe time.
if people say that the textures in this mod slow their game down, they are obviously mistaken, you cannot have more then 1 or 2 fps loss with a texturepack like this, it is simply not possible, if you have a massive fps loss, then it will most likely be a bad PC config, or incompatible mods that make the gameengine unstable, or they have their shadow range set to ultra, which is a big mistake on Bethesda's part to set the shadowrange this high, cause directx11 simply cannot handle the drawcalls that a large shadowrange results in.
If you want to play this game on ultra and never have stutters, you atleast need the fastest CPU intel has at this moment, and even that CPU can barely handle the drawcalls that Fallout generates in densely populated area's.
@Lucarex, So it's very obvious here that your rig is poorly optimized, cause your rig is much faster then mine, and i don't have any FPS slowdowns at all with this and some more high res texturemods. You need to configure your rig and game correctly...for sure..
Having the same fps drop in the city especially standing in front of combat zone.. 25 fps with my i7-7700k + gtx 1080 + 16gb ddr4 Ram. I still haven't tried the loose files, though. I will try that and see if it fixes as the Halk says.
The draw call count in city jumps from 4K to 22K with the esp version. It means that the mod disables precombined data system in outdoor cells. The loose version without the plugin should be fine tho, like Halk said.
I got a gtx 1080 ti , 32 gig ram etc and i can confirm i got about 200 mods installed, only disabling this ( after trying disabling other texture mods , clothes, armors etc ) this mod certainly gave me 20 - 30 fps loss in some places in boston... Truly sad, Havent tried the loose files version , and dont think ill use this anyway.. Some users say it isnt this mod, and by all means u got a different system than mine and the others, it all will depend ..
I had bad FPS too, but foremost i had these graphic glitches all over the place in the city. Thankfully the loose files without esp helped me. A lot. So thanks for this beautiful mod! https://youtu.be/1b2jHj7n9mU
Finally I understand why this mod causes a huge drop of FPS.
Most of the games use the clipping technic to optimize the frame rate : poor textures at a far distance and rich textures at a close distance.
But this game is not optimized like this : in one area, poor textures are mixed with rich textures without any clipping method. The less complex is the area, the more we will see rich textures. The more complex is the area, the more we will see poor textures.
In cities, and specially in big cities, most of the textures are very poor, without considering the distance. Depending on your settings, you can see textures suddenly appear, but you will never see a texture changing from a low to a higher resolution.
Most of texture mods don't handle this (poor) optimization : 4k textures will only replace rich textures, but will never replace poor textures. For exemple, you will see the Nuka Cola 4k mod in a poor area but you won't see those 4k textures in a big city.
In other terms, programmers have decided wich texture can be high and wich texture must be low, in any areas. And, in big open cities, they set most of the textures to a low resolution.
So ? What is the problem with this mod ? Why we have a huge drop of FPS in cities ?
This mod forces the engine to apply its high res textures everywhere. But, if you remember what I said : there are no clipping method in this game. Can you imagine a very big area with only 4k textures ? It's impossible, there are no computer, no graphic card who can support this !
We understand now why we have a huge drop of FPS in big cities and not in lands or small cities : this mod only replaces textures that we can see in cities : no grass, no trees, ect.
So, to conclude. Thanks to the moder, I know he does greate job (witcher III) ! But sadely, this game can not support his work. I recommand to use FlaconOil's HD ReTexture Project instead.
Delt the Cell and World entry from the hdreworkedprojektrevided.esp with Fo4edit the mod dont need this entry´s. The Fps drops are because the mod disabling the combind mesh entries.
I lost one day until I figured out what mod is giving me problems. Mass Fusion area 22 fps with this mod! With all others little fps drop from 60, but ok. (Since I installed mods and game more than year ago...)
Now, I want to use this mod. But there is something that I don't understand.
"This will help, but the static objects will not be changed."
When I disable esp do I get all textures, or only some? Thanks!
The issue is replacing nifs that are used in precombined meshes. If you pull out a nif from under the precombine, precombination AND previs will be deactivated for the cell where it happens. Tire piles are often part of precombines, so this mod essentially breaks all optimizations in all cells where there's a tire pile. Or a broken toilet. Or a broken bathtub, it seems.
The only way to remedy this is by regenerating precombines and previs for all affected cells, which is quite some work.
Will add to the rest of the people that this is a hugh fps drop. My fps drops from solid 60 to 20-30 in certain areas. Running a i7 4790k @ 4.4ghz, 16 gb ram and a 1070ti 8gb vram. The mod just nukes the fps in certain areas.
Tried both the loose file and the esp version both give the same issue.
Running an almost identical set up to you gallahorn, so thanks for the heads up before I spent time trying it out. Shame, the author has obviously put a tremendous amount of work into this. Bethesda raid boss still stands. i7 4790K @ 4.4ghz, R9 390, 16gb 2400mhz, Samsung 840 SSD.
I agree with this one, sadly. I have a good solid PC with 8G RX590 and my fps in Boston on Ultra settings all round drop from 45 to 15-20 fps. It's the engine.
Halk's work on Witcher 3 (my true love!) is simply outstanding. It's breathtaking. Thank you CDPR and Halk.
Bethesda's system just does not support Halk's work here. Sadly.
> Bethesda's system just does not support Halk's work here. Sadly.
Nonsense. The mod breaks previs and precombines in all cells it touches, which destroys performance, whether you notice it or not. That is all there is to it.
Not sure if this is related to NG, but be aware that the Step Stones shown on the images named 46, 48 and 50 cause massive issues in Diamond City and I assume wherever else they are to be found. They cause massive stretched out textures across the whole area. The only way to fully fix this, is to install the loose files and delete the mesh file. But who knows if not some other mesh will cause issues along the way, paired with the fact that Fallout 4 really doesn't like loose files.
Ended up uninstalling the mod. Wasn't worth the potential hassle.
I love absolutely everything about this collection, except the bath tub. The bath tub. THE BATH TUB. That thing needs to come with a whole quest to obtain a hard scraping brush. Every time I see it, i get overwhelmed with the desire to POLISH. Which may or may not have been a pun.
tiny edit: there's some issues with the FootPath/Chodnik in Diamond city. The mesh stretches into the far reach of the sky. Idk whether there's a mod conflict or not, but I just ended up removing all related files and now it's gone.
I'm glad you made that "tiny edit". Just wanted to confirm that I too had the same issue and came to the same resolution. You saved me from a more entailed troubleshooting investigation (eg. dismantling my gargantuan mod installation).
Maybe nudge Halk to look into the problematic models if they have the time?
As for the bath tub... I wholeheartedly agree (and the toilet as well). As one who suffers from some amount of OCD, I aught to say don't stare too long and hard or you'll drive yourself mad. Could be considered a major immersion boost. Doubly so if we could actually clean them ingame. xD
Also, while I'm here... I can't say that this mod in particular seems to cause me any noteworthy loss in performance (and at the moment of posting, I currently have 344 mods installed). It truly is hard to always say why mods work well for some users and not for others, largely due to the multitude diverse mod lists, application configs, and system configs. So much variance means that we each need to tune and troubleshoot our own machines most of the time, with really only limited overlap in common with others.
My recommendations? Know your mods and what they add/edit. I prefer loose files so that I can more easily view and potentially modify them myself. Familiarize yourself with XEdit to iron out plugin related conflicts and complications. I also use MO2 (and swear by it), as it affords a great deal of control over mod installations. And if you are suffering from performance issues, there's always Shadow Boost, among other optimization utilities.
Anywho... there I go with my typical rambling... I'll shut up now. lol
If you're running boston fps fix or previs repair pack which you should be anyway, they negate the negative effects of this mod. I have my texture mod, then this, then PRP and theres no fps drop as PRP rebuilds what this breaks. This looks great too
There's this thread on Steam saying this mod is a well known game borker. Specifically because like many mods of 2015-2016 it's incompatible with DLC, such as here stopping you reaching the Nakano Residence to start Far Harbour. There's other comments here pointing out other issues with this mod such as precombines - maybe PRP repairs it but then you're wedded to PRP and restricted to mods/patches for that too. Just do yourself a big favour and avoid old worldspace mods, and indeed any mod which breaks precombines in the first place (except ones which at least regenerate precombines or have been updated/patched in recent years).
My buffout crashlog is giving me crashes and pointing me to "phoneresidential" over and over again. I notice you have a .nif file for a residential phone as well... this is the third time I've crashed with that log.
I don't want falsely blame you or anything but is there any chance the file is corrupted or something?
I'll try deleting the .nif and see if anything changes.
Cheers :)
PS in case it helps here is a small snippet of my crash log:
It's alright but some textures look worse than the original, some look more flat and some over sharpened. I haven't noticed any FPS drops like others claim.
