Thanks for all who showed interest in this mod. Sorry for the late update.
I must've done something wrong, didn't install it right somehow, or something else conflicts. I looked all over the chem bench and I cannot find the tape for the life of me.
Hey, I have an issue: I wanted to craft that one holoband but I can't find it in the chemistry station. Is it normal or not ? Thanks and have a good one
Uninstalling mods that use scripts is a no no, and I just go ahead and start a new game if I have to remove a mod: period. It's bad juju to mess with lo.
Anywho, since I was using your old version before you fixed the bug, I just manually copied and overwrote the old one to keep LO and save file in tact. Is that a goof because I'm dealing with scripts? I don't wanna start over again..but ..it's okay, I'm a big boy. Give it to me straight doc...am I never gonna shuffle again?
I have been posting my followers at settlements as guards and quickly lost track of where they were. I installed your mod with MO2, ran LOOT to check the sort, and BAM! no more lost followers! :) Thanks for this simple and effective mod.
It seems after a while it doesnt track companions anymore. It still has quest selected and the marker on the map, but not in the player's vision (compass for example)
i load an old save and it seems to work again (but it's hours ago), but i don't know what happened
Edit: I reinstalled it and it showed up for a second but as Dogmeat (tracking) gets closer it disappeared permenantly.
Edit: Did a fresh uninstall, load up and save the game without the mod, and then reinstalled it again. it worked
Edit: nevermind, it stops working everytime I load up the game again after fixing it
This is gonna sound crazy, but have you diddled your .inis at all? Either manually or with bethINI? Cuz you may have changed a value and forgot which one... Or with bethINI, it seems to like doofing up certain .ini values. Like, you set rain occlusion on in the bethINI, but when you load the fo4 splash screenz it's disabled.
I first noticed these incongruities a few weeks ago. Deleting all my .inis and rebuilding them all has fixed a bunch of issues I'd been having with mods not working right.
Verify integrity of local files thru steam, and rebuild your inis
I have been dealing with the issue of the companion tracker from the DLC not working for EVER. I've tried to fix it in innumerable ways, even trying to edit the script for the quest itself. Shocker: not a single program that claims to edit them actually does anything, the .pex / .psc is impossible to edit. Everyone has plenty of time to tell me all about how it works perfectly for them , so that's a good thing I guess.
This isn't the way I wanted to fix it, but it fixes it. Thanks.
There does appear to be a bug with the mod where Porter Gage can be tracked right away without ever having met him. I noticed in xEdit there's no conditions set for his menu item, so I did my best to try and fix it. I got him to disappear, but I'm not sure if thats cuz the conditions I placed are right. I couldn't set a reference for him because there are none. I wish this guy would come out of retirement and fix it lol
I do intend to, but just haven't been motivated to try to install FO4 and try to catch up on the entire modding scene. It's been like weekly bleeding edge breakthroughs for Skyrim Special Edition. It's hard to stay on top of that and I've been building that modlist for years. But, there is 1 mod in particular I NEED to finish and release for Fallout 4 because it'd be a crime not to. I will revisit the code for this mod also, I thought the CC mod would make this obsolete-ish but that doesnt seem to be the case.
That would be awesome. For some reason the vault tech manager VIP tracker just doesn't work for me, and for dozens of others, which is why I needed this mod. I hope you find time for it. Thanks for the response.
I see what you mean - thanks for the report! And it looks like I didnt package source files in the BSA. I've been doing that as a general practice now so you can play around with the scripts if you wanted to also. I found them in an old backup. Should have a quick update out today.
Well, the good news is I found the issue with the vip tracker from the base game. Sort of. I e removed several mods I had in my LO that were seemingly unrelated (like settler sandbox expansion) as well as rebuild my .inis. whatever I did it seems to have fixed the issue in all subsequent playthroughs.
I still keep this mod in my LO as a "just in case". I also modded your mod, so I changed all the text to cringey shock humor. Companions are now "assholes", stuff like that. I digress.
Thanks for the update you legend, I appreciate it.
Not to be that guy, but you did enable the plugin via the mod manager right? The only reason it wouldn't appear is you forgot to enable the mod, or another mod overwrites it.
You should probably check your mod manager or xEdit first for these kinds of things
