Does this mod alter the leaves on the trees? I mean, you are unleashed upon the world from vault 111 during the middle of Autumn. So, Autumn leaves would make sense before winter fell on the Institute.
not sure this is an issue on my side only, but everything is super grainy looking, like everything is either too sharp that it causes this hard on the eyes grainy look to everything from the trees bark to the grass, it's super uncanny, was i supposed to do something else to make that odd effect go away?
Yeah it's the same on my end. It's okay for textures in close proximity, but viewing distant landscapes makes it appear as though there is heavy film-grain on just the grass/plant textures. I like the deep greens but not sure about the grainy/pixelated effect.
One other issue is that there isn't enough colour differentiation on vegetation. Grass, weeds and plants all using a very similar palette/gradient.
Was ultimately trying to find a mod that makes dirt a lot darker/richer and more fertile looking. The dirt in this is not bad but it's still full of sickly colours and not dark, rich or clean enough.
i very love your mod, now i can in truth see what i need to scrap, before it was hard to see just crap every part of the map the fact is in the game, if the war was 210 years ago i say all the plants would have start to grow and taken over, going by what they say on the BBC documentary. but as they game is before your mod its nothing to look at.
again i very love your mod hope there be no bugs, i just got the new MSI GTX 1060 Gaming x 6GB and yet to try it on there as i am using a test PC for mods on fallout 4 before i put on my big system
210 years ago would eliminate almost all modern things we see like food, clothing, buildings in cities wouldn't be recognizable and zero cars would exist if exposed to weather. All these "post apocalyptic" games creators should have watched "After Humans"
Exposed bones would be long gone, but current assessments of degradation of "almost all modern things" assumes no advances in materials technology between now and 2077. We've already seen how many modern man-made materials persist in the environment, and another 55yrs could see that persistence increase - potentially exponentially and thus far more than even FO4 imagines...
As for radiation, almost all assessments made by the internet's ignorami are based on the likes of Hiroshima and Chernobyl, but these comparisons are so far way off the mark for a nuclear WW3 (many orders of magnitude) that it's laughable. Hiroshima was a single 15 kiloton bomb but the biggest tested warhead is 57 megatons - that's nearly 4,000 times worse. Even regular modern warheads would be 500-2,000 times worse than Hiroshima - and there'd be many thousands fired and dropped, resulting in a situation many millions of times worse than Hiroshima. With no local let alone regional or national help to aid you. And a long nuclear winter a virtual certainty - followed by who knows what changes to the planet after that (snowball earth or dead scorched rock).
As for Chernobyl it, for example, released in total about 25 times more iodine than Hiroshima, but did so extremely slowly, taking many thousands of times longer to do so (9 days, not mere seconds) and dissipated over a much wider area. And it didn't suck up and blow out any massive crater of irradiated materials. The resultant level of intensity is infinitesimally tiny compared to just the local effects of the explosion of a single modern nuclear warhead. And again, there'd be many thousands of these warheads, leading to a many millions of times worse outcome - followed by a nuclear winter of unknown length. Getting back to say FO3 or FO4 levels of recovery might only take 50yrs, or perhaps 500yrs, or easily never - so 200yrs isn't a bad guess (I'd say it's fairly optimistic).
Also the next thing is: the Fallout universe is not the real future, as all should have noticed already, but people in the 50th just imagine how the future would be.
And (american) people in the 50th were thinking atom is that non plus ultra thing which ever got invented, everyhting will work with a nuclea core and else (that's why cars and else exploding like a mininuke because they got a nuke engine, fuel tank) But also people didn't know at this time nature would recover eventually sometime and don't mind the radiation. After nuclea tests and bombs fell they were sure nothing would grow anymore and changing the world into an everlasting "wasteland". And that's why Fallout games actually usually looking like a wasteland/sometimes even badlands..
i think the reason why there is no fallout game that consists of during the events of the bombs dropping is because the nuclear winter aspect, which would have prevented any growth of plants of any kind on the surface, there might be some slightly isolated pockets though and maybe some cave tunnels that people possibly lived in during that time, but they still would have been dying very quickly because people need certain provisions met in order to survive, i love fallout but this idea that we would still be around and kicking like in the games is a fairy tale at best.
like the population would be beyond below regrowth levels, there might be a lot of interbreeding too so lots of disabilities due to the radiation that was irreversible damage and also screwing your genetic code simply due to not enough genetic diversity and low population, they wouldn't last 300 years they just wouldn't.
like the whole minutemen railroad super mutant ghoul brotherhood of steel or even the NCR stuff wouldn't exist, now with that said, it might be possible for the colony of the institute to survive that, so long as they had a larger colony of people living underground with a lot more food production, the facility in game is really small, a lot smaller than one would suggest for a society to exist underground like they have been, it's a cool idea but they wouldn't exist the way it's suggested in game, the power requirements to keep the lights on, a phrase they use talking about their power hungry needs as they literally keep the lights on 24/7 lol and they are creating synths 24/7 as well lol, you know i'm surprised they still have so many gen 1 synths running around since they don't appear to be making them anymore, but they use these synths a hell of a whole lot more than the supposed 3rd gen synths, like in the story it's suggested they exist everywhere, but in the game you only see a handful of 3rd gen synths within the institute and outside the institute.
Surely you are though! You said, "Let there be grass!" and there was! Wait, that might make you the father . . . Well, who can keep that straight anyway.
But is this just a coloring of the area around Sanctuary or something more?
Could you possibly do a clean version of Takahasi? a craftable takahashi mod just came out but he still looks dirty as ever and im sure alot of people would love a clean version
You would't have to touch their work All they did was make Takahashi buildable with Automatron. All you'd be doing is cleaning up the vanilla bot like you always do. I'd love to see cleaner bots in general.
i have not try yet but it looks good i just got a gtx 760 card hope it works well its funny how people say its the wasteland but is 210 years have passed after the war i would say most things would look more green as your mod as done thank you for this work
Great job on this mod. Just for the greener texture replacing the brown dirt makes sanctuary look 1000x better. I may actually use it as a settlement now. Thank you for this.

The corn is looking particularly fresh:

anyway i have gotten off topic sorry.
