I always hated it. If you shot a damn strong scorpion from a distance, it definitely won't die on the first shot. But by the time you want to shoot again, it's gone. 1-2 sec and it's really in your face. However, what usually happens in Glowing Sea is that even 2-3 are close to each other. So they all pop up around you. I think radscorpion is one of the strongest opponents in the game. Its movement, Its poison, and of course its digging. If we remove the latter, it might be much more manageable.
Agreed. As far as I'm concerned it's a broken mechanic. If only there was some way to increase the time delay between "tunnel" and "emerge" to 5-10 seconds. I'd honestly be happy to leave the mechanic in place if that were the case.
Must have mod to be honest. For me, it was my arachnophobia that was unbearable. Like, for some reason im fine if i can see them rushing at me, but the tunneling? No. It made the Glowing Sea nearly unplayable. Im just walking along shooting a few ghouls and the BAM, a giant scorpion just appears in my face. It was just too much lol
This mod has been in my load order longer than anything but Full Dialog Interface, ever since I sniped a radscorpion at the very limit of rendering range and it INSTANTLY popped up next to me and stabbed me even though I could still see it in my scope. Without this mod, they don't just tunnel, they TELEPORT. Now they just lie in ambush underground, which is much more realistic.
I find the concept of most of the wildlife totally unbelievable. EVERY radiation exposure to date, either kills, or takes the cellular/DNA level DOWN not up, or out in any way. And why do the brahmin and deer have to have TWO heads? Biggest BS in games that I've seen.
