v1.3 supports Next Gen Update (DLL Loader only, ATM). F4SE is currently not updated for the Next Gen Update, but I'll watch it and update again when needed.
Enjoy.
Day 526: send help I'm about to upload the new version but I'll also need to update the description.
For now, follow Skyrim's version instructions, but the dll loader will be in the optional files here instead.
PSA for Steam Deck Users (ShadowMan maybe sticky this if you have time?)
Install the latest version of this mod, and then set this as a launch option by being in Gaming Mode, clicking the Cog Icon -> Properties
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winmm.dll=n,b" %command% EDIT: Apparently one Steam Deck User has reported that this causes Fallout 4 to crash, however removing the " around "winmm.dll=n,b" caused it to work correctly. Please try that if the original launch option doesn't work
This will load the mod correctly and it will work as expected. Happy Playing!
Don't forget to add in SteamDeck=0 to the launch options so that the launcher loads to be able to change graphics settings.
For those wondering what WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winmm.dll=n,b" does, it simply tells proton to not use it's built in winmm.dll and instead use the patched the one provided in the game folder.
My game wont launch with this WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winmm.dll=n,b" %command% added to the launch command. also tried removing the " as mentioned. any idea? all the files are in the right location
I wasn't so lucky, I did the installation manually as it is in the pictures and using Vortex, but my game still keeps recognizing Mods. I even used the command cited by lietuv1s on Linux, but it didn't work either? Any idea what it could be?
I can't get it to work on DLL version Does all the extra .dll from enb can affects it? I'll just wait for the F4SE cause that's the one I use before these Next Gen shenanigans anyway At least I can use the time to fix all the mod conflicts, etc on xEdit
Edit: Noticed that you're asking people if they're using NVIDIA overlays Well I have it running by default, I'll try to deactivate it once I get back from work and see if it works after that
I don't understand i've installed and followed everything correctly...i've followed the instructions as well as the examples shown by the pictures posted...and yet no matter what, i still get the achievements disabled menu error...i am using the latest F4SE which finally works, but it doesn't matter what i do it just won't work...what is causing it?
You need to use the dll from this page, and be patient. The working version of F4SE was just uploaded last night. Give Shadowman some time to figure out what changes are needed to make the mod work with F4SE again.
Don't get me wrong, i am patient when it comes to modders taking their time to update their works, but i was more lost and confused than impatient here, i've downloaded the DLL from the page and still didn't seem to work, so i guess for now i'll wait, thanks for letting me know eitherway.
I can confirm that this mod is still not compatible with the newly (Next-Gen) updated/latest release of F4SE (v0.7.1). HOWEVER...this mod DOES indeed work fine as advertised, using the Optional Files 'DLL Loader' method. \o/ I even have the new F4SE (v0.7.1) AND the 'DLL Loader' installed both together, and as far as I can tell, everything is working perfect, woohoo! \o/
Hella fine work, xSHADOWMANx and Sumwunn at github! Once again...THANK YOU for this mod (and THANK YOU for the Next-Gen update! ♥), and all the hard work and time you have shared with us over the years!! \o/ ♥
I have no idea, I don't use Vortex/MO2, I only ever do Manual Installs/Uninstalls, but it says on the description page that mod managers are good to go? (Though it's well known that Vortex can occasionally mess up installs/uninstalls, lol.)
I tried one of the easy achievements I hadn't gotten yet and it did pop, so mine works. I did exactly what Hammerhead96 describes couple posts down. I installed the DLL manually (I don't have F4SE and will not get it before it's proven fully funtional again) and then I used Vortex to download the mod file. I had to manually enable the DLLloader in Vortex, but other than that, there was nothing I had to do beyond these steps.
I'm also running into an issue getting this to resolve. According to the picture posted it is installed correctly via Vortex Mod Manager and I have F4SE installed as well but whenever I go to start a new game I get the achievement message error.
*EDIT* I thought maybe it was F4SE that was an old version so I went to find the newest one and found that F4SE is currently broken so I couldn't rely on that method to work. I disabled F4SE and downloaded .dll that was included and I am no longer getting the Achievement message when trying to start a new game. Looks like its working, but the F4SE is not an option (at least for me)
Yeah, F4SE not updated yet. I might have to issue an update for this when they update, but not sure yet.
Also, since it's working you: Are you running NVIDIA? If so, do you have their overlay running? People here are having odd issues so I'm trying to narrow down causes (now 2nd, potential NVIDIA issue).
Just to let you know, it's still not working with the new F4SE update from yesterday, but that's to be expected. It works fine with your dll installed, so no biggie.
F4SE just got updated (0.7.1 as of writting). Will the mod be updated to support the latest version of it? Seems some people who have downloaded this and the latest F4SE couldn't get it to work.
Hi! I am probably the odd one out here, but I got Fallout 4 working very well on my MacBook Pro using crossover and before the update your mod worked great. I still had achievements after multiple mods.
I can't get to the DLL loader or the updated mod to work now. I have winmm.dll in the root directory, and two separate folders under fallout 4\Data containing the loader ini and the mod files. Still doesn't seem to work.
Looks like crossover is another implementation of wine. Like on the steam deck, the emulation layer has its own built in version of the patched dll that it's using. You need to tell it not to use the built in one.
In steam on the steam deck this is accomplished by adding the following to the launch command
Hello! Will this mod be updated to support the latest version of F4SE (0.7.1 as of time of writting)?
It would be nice to not have to install the DLL loader, as it's one of those mods that don't get tracked by the mod manager (i.e. they have to be installed manually).

I think the DLL file solutions doen't work when using Vortex to install, and must be done manually.
So I always do them manually
