Attention. After giving it some thought and talking with my friends in the community, I have decided to take the following course of action.
Most of my mods have been unhidden for the time being. I have received an overwhelming amount of support from so many users who have sent well wishes, and I appreciate this more than you know. I will no longer be providing support or updates for my mods until Nexus issues can be resolved. Please do not pm me for info regarding this, I will provide more info as I have it.

Double Pet Bug should be totally fixed. Pet option removed until you first meet Dogmeat Added ability to Call Dogmeat from anywhere anytime, even while you have another companion using the dog leash. You can now whistle for Dogmeat to follow you from anywhere in the wasteland. If Dogmeat is already your companion you will order him around instead. Added ability to pet any non hostile dogs including junkyard dog or non hostile raider dogs. should work with most modded companion dogs as well if they use standard dog races. compatibility patches are easily made Removed the ability to use the Squeaky dog toy to call dog meat. Instead, you can give Dogmeat any Red rocket Toy you find in the world and he will play with it like the teddy bear (may add more toys in the future) Additional Script optimization Pet Script re-written from scratch to include other dogs and fix bugs

Thank you, SO much for this amazing mod! No more feeling of disconnect when wanting to interact with Dogmeat! And the call function? Fabulous! IDK about the rest of you, but my boy likes to run off and scout sometimes and, not being the most outdoorsy person in the world, I have a horrible time trying to locate where he got off to!

I absolutely adore this mod, as I hate leaving Dog (I refuse to call him Dogmeat....lol), and I enjoy the interaction of being able to pet him and so on. Thank you so much for your time and thoughtfulness in doing this mod.
I have a question, if I might, is it possible for this mod to work in conjunction with a follower mod, i.e. Unlimited Companion Framework? It would be nice to have this interaction while still being able to take him with another follower.
It really, REALLY bugged me that I couldn't pet Dogmeat. I got Everyone's Best Friend just so I could keep him around with my other companions, and between that and the backpack that adds 150 to his carry weight, he's incredibly useful. I've lost count of how many times he's intervened for my character, plus he's just a great upbeat note to the game. Maybe the world's a smoking crater, but dogs are still there and awesome.
This really adds to immersion and it's just plain fun. Really appreciate your taking the time to write this and share it with the community as well as making it compatible with Everyone's Best Friend!
Yes, this mod is fun! Dogmeat seems to be so much happier than before *g* So everyone can go deeper with Dogmeat and he deserves that. (one of the beautiest dog textures i have seen) i bet the original dog is a winner of many contests *g*
Wow, choosing this mod was a no brainer. Of course this has to be in my mod list. What a great way to improve my relationship with the best companion in the game in a totaly immersive way. Thank you for this. ENDORSED!

The mod worked fine when first installed, but later the petting animation didn't work. However, it appeared to happen after I constructed a personal jetpack. I theorized that the jetpack animation was interfering with this one. After moving this mod after Jetpacks FAO in my load order, the pet animation returned. So, I suggest that if your petting animation isn't working, place this mod after any mods that contain animations for the player character.
Update: hmm... tried it again little later. while better, it's still uneven. Not transitioning from 1st person, and unevenly working in 3rd person. So, my original suggestion is inconclusive.
But, even if the petting isn't quite working, I do appreciate using the leash and treats.
Lone wanderer perk still applies when only dogmeat follows + you have the attack dog perk. With both at rank 3 that's 20% less damage to you, 25% more damage that you do, 100 extra carry weight, Dogmeat holds them in place while increasing your VATS hit chance, and a chance he'll cause cripple or bleed while holding them.
Thanks for this. Kept wondering why I was coming across all these cans of pre-war dog food without any way to feed Dogmeat. And DOH!! whistling for him to come should have been included in the base game. I hate having the glowing icon over dogmeat in some of the follow quests, and if I lose him I just want to whistle. Kudos!!
Dude, I play since ages but was wondering the other day why I couldn't pet dogmeat, this was the first result, and let me say that if for some magical restrictions I could install only one mod for FO4, this would be it.
Damn half my gameplay now is "come here boi lemme pet you, aww"

Silly as this sounds, I "lost" Dogmeat some time ago, and he has never shown back up at Sanctuary. Would the call dogmeat toy potentially recall him from wherever he wandered off to?
If you have the Vault Tec Workshop DLC you can also craft the "Vault-Tec Population Management System" at a settlement, and activate its companion tracker to see where he is.
