This mod attempts to fix that by changing the material requirements of the turrets to be more realistic. Because let's face it...
If you can make a laser turret from crystals, glass and a few gears, then with the stuff you've all hoarded (Don't deny it) you should have taken

What this mod does is change the requirements of turrets to be more realistic. Now to build the turret, you will need to have the weapon associated wtih it. No more turrets made from radio parts. Want a shotgun turret? Find a shotgun first. Want to blow your enemies up with a missile turret? No problem. Just find a missile launcher first. It won't magically appear.
Also, how do these turrets function? Magic? This isn't Skyrim! Now turrets require a "Turret Computer" part which can be crafted in the Chemistry Station under Turret Components along with a "Sensor Array" needed for the Turret computer to locate the target. Magic is expensive in the Commonwealth.
All jokes aside, this mod essentially makes it more realistic (and therefor harder) to create turrets. Because the components of the turrets are harder to find and use actual weapons instead of junk, you'll have to be more tactical in your choice of turret and placement of it. Long gone will be the days of spamming turrets and watching everything blow up.

Turret Computers are crafted in the Chemistry Workbench under "Turret Components".
Major components it requires are a Sensor Array (craftable in the same section) and a Military-Grade Circuit Board. The sensor array is crafted using a Biometric Scanner. The biometric scanner and Mil-Grade Circuit Board are commonly found on robots or vendors. So you might have to kill a few Protectrons to get them. It's not so rare that it's impossible, but not so easy either that you can loot the parts every three trash bins. Makes it more challenging essentially.
I'm thinking of extending it to include more settlement stuff and even mods for armour and weapons later. I'm also developing a compatibility patch to extend this mod's functionality to MOAR Turrets and Advanced Turrets Mods. They add a lot of new turrets.
IMPORTANT: Since this mod uses weapons as a requirement now, make sure you have no valuable weapons of the same type, as the turret you're making, in your inventory. You will need one weapon to make the turret, but to make sure it doesn't scrap your legendary, OP modded Laser rifle (applies to all weapons used by these turrets) instead of the junk laser pistols you looted of a raider, you should remove you're valuable, personal weapons first before building the turret. Better safe than sorry. There is no fix for this as all weapons of the same type ( whether modded/unmodded/legendary etc.) share the same Base ID. And you probably don't want it to be your 10000 cap God Weapon. Just a word of advice. Don't start screaming because it took your Legendary over the cheap raider one because i did warn you.
Incompatibilities: Anything changing the material requirements of those turrets. None that I can think of so far though...
Bugs: None so far. There shouldn't be any at all this mod does is changes the required components and added 2 new ones.
Notes: This mod was made in Bethesda's official Creation Kit. In case you're worried about that type of thing.
