Think it's possible to do Mysterious Stranger too? It has the same dumb restrictions for effect...

Great mod, i've found it happening more often. One instance was when taking The Castle. A minute man veteran was trying to shoot baby mire lurks and i was too close to them, it triggered on him. It was awful but hilarious.

I'll call that a feature and not a bug, for comedy.

This mod rules! I made a cowboy type character and for full spaghetti western effect I maxed my luck and picked ricochet, even though outside of bloody mess I don't plan on taking any other luck perks. To my disappointment, I read ricochet was hot garbage. After a long period of getting shot intentionally to attempt to get it to proc, I came to the same conclusion. The first time I tried to test it with this mod installed it procced. Awesomeness. A + mod.

I will second what I saw another poster say about a different ricochet mod(think it was the 100% one), turning down the damage so it's not an insta kill and maybe upping the frequency in general could be cool. If it wasn't tied to health it would be universally more useful, and if it didn't insta kill it wouldn't be overpowered. Either way this mod rules as is, thanks for making and uploading it.

That's odd, it happens all the time for me.

Maybe you use a higher difficulty and so things have more health?

Bad luck for me maybe? This perk also seems very dependent on your play style. If you like to snipe or stick to cover it will probably not happen often.

At higher levels getting the mobs health to the required amount for it to work by vanilla standards is annoying at lower levels the mob HP requirement isn't there actually (it's a hidden mechanic) and if you're a heavy heavy VATs user most things die before it has a chance to even go off. It's meant to be a defensive measure for those times you're out of AP and can't get into VATs and need that safety net if you're playing a low endurance "glass cannon" type which is what my Gunslinger is so the improvements on this perk with this mod help a lot with that. I'd prefer it still work on Legendary mobs but I also like how that brings in another way of them being "legendary" with the fact they're immune to Ricochet.

I didn't notice this, good to know. I also found the health requirement annoying.

We're on the same page, I also play a low endurance character. I removed the ability to effect Legendary mobs because there are already some boss type mobs tagged "NoRicochet", and I feel like Legendary should also be immune for more challenge. They are fun to fight anyway.

The second Ricochet overhaul I've seen. I'll say here what I said at the other one:

I want a Ricochet perk that simply gives me a 0.5%/1%/1.5% chance for bullets to Ricochet for each point of Luck. (In other words, 5%/10%/15% at 10 Luck)

Plain and simple. No silly health requirements and such.

I really wish someone would make this happen. All these good, detailed overhauls and nothing this dead simple to be found. *sigh*

Yay!! Very much needed. After 100 hours I only had the vanilla version activate once...

I had a thought, what if you disabled the insta-kill feature and instead made it deal the same amount of damage as it would have to you and have it occur much more often?

Or maybe wearing power armor make it occur more often?

Also some immersion of requiring the wearing of armors that could actually cause a ricochet?

    Anyways thank you!

Seriously, it's the worst vanilla perk ever.

I tried to add a bonus if wearing power armor, but couldn't do it without a script. The Creation Kit wiki says to avoid scripts in perks, but I'm looking for a way to do it.

I like the idea of just having it return damage and turning the frequency way higher. That should be possible, I may try that in a separate version.

The rest of the Luck perks are so good together, this one just needs some love. I'm aiming for ricochet to be powerful but not overpowered.

      Thanks for your feedback!

It's definitely possible to just make it's frequency higher. I sorta did that in my mod, tho granted I totally went with overpowered XD

It's so strange how they set up that perk normally. Anywho, I really like the idea you're going for here.^^ It seems like it would play well with the Nerd Rage perk too^^

Zentelioth, I saw your mod when I was looking for something to help ricochet. I never play melee characters in Fallout, but I might try with your mod. Cool idea to make it a reactive skill for melee.
