I know that I am likely a minority for an interest in a request like this. However I would like to ask someone to create a mod that makes the V.A.N.S perk ability which shows you the way to the nearest quest objective to be a toggle, maybe tied to a different key as well? I just find it kind of annoying to use. Not only do you have to keep reactivating vats every few seconds to follow the perks path, but having to enter and exit vats itself in order to trigger it is an annoying time waster.
If a toggle is too difficult and changing the key is impossible then I would settle for it lasting an extended time instead. Something like 30 seconds so that I wont need to reactivate it too often, but it also wont be too annoying to wait for the giant fart clouds to disperse if I want to see something that they are in the way of.
I so agree! There's the V.A.N.S. Goggles mod that adds goggles that activate the ability, but then you have to have the eyewear equipped when you want to use it, and armor doesn't "toggle" with hotkeys. I'd love to be able to toggle this on and off by double-tapping the vats key or something.
I am currently checking the compatibility of this mod and yours for future reference. If incompatible, would anyone be willing to assist me in making a patch to make V.A.N.S. more worthwhile while not breaking immersion?
Hey guys. it's certainly been a while. I owe everybody who has shown interest in this pet project of mine a big apology for leaving it unattended and unupdated for so very long. Got a confession for you. I am not the world's most proficient modder. I made the original mod just as a test to see if I could somehow derp my way through figuring out the creation kit process and not only did it take days but I only just barely got the final product in working order. Then, after a while, I had moved on to playing other games and it took untilI wandered back to Fallout 4 to even realize that the release of Nuka-World had broken things. By then, I had more or less forgotten everything I had originally figured out and barely had any idea how to fix my own mod. Because of that, I actually owe a huge thank-you to Outlaw Liberator down below, who's advice on how to fix the darn thing was invaluable. Now I've finally updated the site's version of the mod with the nessacary fixes, and hopefully have removed the need for you to fix it yourselves. That said, I'd like to officially admit that modding in general is a bit outside of my skill base, so I'll likely leave it up to the real professionals in the future. That said, if anyone would like to utilize this mod as a base for their own projects, they have my official blessing to do so. You guys can likely do a lot greater things than i can with it... Plus, if anyone has any idea how to add a functionality to this thing to do things like avel6216 suggests, or make lootable corpses glow while using it, by all means, take a crack at it.

Maybe the V.A.N.S. perk can, for an investment worth, can reintegrate marking enemies on your pip-boy. This, of course, could have level and SPECIAL requirements, just to be able to balance out its effectiveness.
Work Fine if you dont have the Nuka DLC, So Needs a Nuka DLC Update u can manually update it your self with FO4Edit it does make a sightly better perk now

When I went to merge this mod with a few other perk mods that I use (to cut down on total ESPs), I discovered that it did some changes to idiot savant. Is that intended?
Given there are no actual changes to the idiot savant perk and nothing in the description about it I'm pretty sure this is unintended and should be cleaned.
