Version 1.1 released. Small fix to W and S keys being used in the console for line movement back and forwards. These have been remapped to Up and DOWN arrow binds when in the console.

    Thank you so much!

not for the mod itself,  though im sure its good, but for explaining that fo4 uses vk-keycodes not dx scancodes like I assumed.

I wasted so much time trying to figure it out and nobody else mentioned it, again ty

I have an odd problem. Not sure if this mod is the issue or not. I used this on my old install of FO4 on my old PC and worked fine. I have a fresh install of FO4 on my new PC; Dell 8940 i7 10700 32gb Ram Geforce RTX 2060 Super 8GB.
The problem is my jump key is gone. I don't mean I press middle mouse and nothing happens (although it doesn't) I mean at the main menu, I go to settings -> controls and there is nothing there for jump. Movement keys are there, activate, sprint, etc. All there. Jump is missing. I uninstalled FO4, verified files with Steam, still gone. The only way I can get to a higher place is by using TCL in the console.
I looked online and no one else seems to have this issue.
I looked in the txt file and changed the jump key to use the space bar but that did nothing.

    **UPDATE**
In case anyone else has this issue, I got my jump key back. I deleted both ControlMap_Custom.txt and CustomControlMap.txt and my keybindings went back to default. I set everything up they way I wanted, including jump, which was back now. However, I could no longer move in workshop mode. I then installed this and everything was working okay again. Still no idea what happened with jump to begin with...

This is a bug within Fallout 4, to fix you just have to go to Documents\My Games\Fallout4 and delete the ControlMap_Custom.txt. Once done, just reset your bindings in the game. This mod can be left alone and will function as normal.

I'd like to know, you see at the same line there got 7 parameters, are they all have functions? What does those mean?

Hi, I am hoping someone has an insight into how one can map a new key combination into the relevant file(s).

I use Home / END/ Delete / Page Down as my left handed key set for movement and would like to map it in a fashion to how the arrow keys have been mapped.

Simply replacing references to say the UP arrow key with the HOME key in the CustomControlMap.txt that warriorpoetex kindly provides with this mod does not seem to work - the keys get mapped into the game - but do not allow movement in Workshop mode.

I count 5 references to the UP Arrow key in the warriorpoetex's CustomControlMap.txt but now wonder if there is some other mapping going on.

I know about the file that gets generated into the My Games Fallout 4 folder, if one changes bindings in-game, but wondering if and how I can get a different key combination mapped into the CustomControlMap.txt that will work in normal and workshop mode?

When I use TeamViewer to play Fallout 4, I cannot control the steering. Can you make a mod that uses the keyboard to control the steering to solve this problem?please help me.

    Hi All,

what ever i try. Still movement is on Cursor keys in Play mode. In WS Mode Cursor keys change to menu, no prob for me, BUT WASD did not let me move
    or cycle through WS menu.
I'm not able to use my favourite Cursor key movement in both, Play + WS Mode. Where did i make a mistake ? File is in Data + Data\FS4E directory.
    Any suggestions ?

Check that you have not changed any control settings in game as this creates a file called ControlMap_Custom.txt in the same place as your fallout4prefs.ini file (\Documents\My Games\Fallout4) as this will override the F4SE settings

EDIT: I just did some further testing and both files do appear to work together though when I first tried they didn't. What I did was remove controlmap_custom.txt, installed this file and then replaced controlmap_custom.txt and both seem to work together

Thanks so much for this! Fixed it in an intuitive way for arrow key users as should have been an option out of the box.

Thank you for creating this utility. I am a left-handed mouser so I moved my keybindings to the right side of my keyboard. Workshop mode was a pain until I used this. It allowed me to complete the Dima memories quest on Far Harbor w/o walking off the edges and ending the simulation
