I noticed that the tooltips for harvesting show random characters and that the planters don't give resources relative to the amount of food they produce. That and holy heck these things are picky on placement.
I use the cannabis mod and has those metal racks to place them like in the garden where the robots are and they snap into them, also my greenhouse is much bigger than garden's..you know cannabis need their space too (lots space lol)
as for placement the 'place everywhere' workshop snap toggles can help with the way they sometimes want to float on top of the smallest hill... https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/9424 I cant reccomend that thing enough, it fixes so many things about building.
A bit late here, but Northland Diggers is a great mod for those of you having issues with this mod. It has planters, resource stations.... It's a great mod (a bit old, but it still works perfectly)
I am not new to modding, I am new to FO4 modding; which made me become susceptible to not knowing there were different ways to create content for this game.
Sufficed to say, I downloaded this MOD assuming this, “Snip” was a valid program, well, lesson learned.
I’ll save a long-detailed story for the short-version.
Started the game with this MOD in tow and everything ran fine. Then all hell broke loose. My files became bloated, random CTD, freezing etc.
I assumed it was a new MOD I installed (not this one) and did the whole uninstall/clean save process. I soon realized this game play was beyond saving and had to start a new game.
Then same problems soon kicked in. I was so damn frustrated. So, I did some game file cleanup etc. Game was still having issues.
After several swear words, I dug deep and found the issue: this mod.
I learned that, any MOD created with Snip can potential cause problems with your game.
I uninstalled it and started yet another new game. And guess what? Game runs like a smooth engine. Zero problems.
I am not telling you not to download this MOD. I am simply relaying a warning. If you choose to download this and start having issues, (perhaps like mine) it is probably this MOD.
The content was nice, but, too bad it was created with a unstable shady program.
Thats a shame =( , I'm also new to modding fo4 as a user not mod author, I've recently started playing fo4 and only fo4 no other dlcs yet , so was looking for planters and use very few mods at this point , so far any building mod I'm using dont seem to add the planters, I think bethes should've unlocked that as a special after doing the quest for grey garden , which I've done , but after reading this , I dont want problem with my game play because of what a mod created with and could cause problems, ( i'm quite capable of doing that myself without a mods help =/ ) , just have to keep looking for other planter mods !! I really want to find planters and set up and glass house of sorts like grey garden, I dont see those planters in my workshop =( which is why I'm searching nexus o.O
My husband had this same MOD on his machine and all of sudden he experienced freezing after 10 mintues of play. He uninstalled it and started a new game. He is no longer having issues.
Snip is a valid program., but this was made far before CK or xedit and it contains bad records as far as i recall. Until it gets passed thru CK, it will remain faulty.
thats crazy, cause i have been using this mod since it came out and have had no issues. the closest thing i have to a complaint is that sometimes the NPCs are standing next to the planters doing their animations. but that only really happens when i use a lot of console commands to fine-tune placement.
another thing i really liked about this mod, that even Etheon's mod doesnt do, is it lets me move the planter after i place it
the fact that only some people have this issues would make me wonder if it isnt a some other issue causing it. i know Beth games have had several bugs that were dependent on hardware. and some other bugs that happen if your rig ran the game too well. lol
I have never had an issue with this mod and I am happy to continue its use in my game. Yet the incidents speak for themselves, so I suspect some incompatibility with another mod is causing some users grief. Try using FO4Edit to identify possible incompatibilities.
@LimeJello24 I can not see how this mod would effect you. Try changing load order. Could be having a mod conflict. Using this and it is working ok for me. - (Should note that in CKit/FO4Edit it shows that the ATTX-Activate Text Override appears corrupted in some of the Flora info. I believe it was suppose to say "Harvest", but instead says ???, Suggest changing/correcting to Harvest to avoid problems) But thats it.
You, guys, just made an end to a whole week long struggle of mine. In a nutshell: All of a sudden, out of blue, I faced the infinite load screen glitch. Spent a whole week with delving into forum notes, YT videos/tutorials, playing around with load order, disabling/enabling mods, numeruous reinstalls... I was at the point of abandoning Fallout 4 at level 151 for good.
What I want to say, is an extra HUGE thank to all of you guys, you pointed me to the right direction! Because I used this mod without any problem since the fresh start of my playthrough, I would have never imagined that this mod is the culprit, and this mod caused the infinite load screen glitch.
Now, I am at the point of having 30+ settlements without any food (as I got rid of this mod), which is quite frustrating (hills of food to plant AGAIN), but at least the game is loading again! :)
Can anyone of you, please, drop me a hint of a similar mod, where you assign the settlers to a similar, already planted planters and NOT to individual crop elements? (Could save me loads of time.)
I was so frustrated with this mod, installed it just for dicking around with planting in greenhouses and such without those unsightly dirt patches. I played around with them and found much to my disdain that I could place these planters pretty much everywhere except where I wanted them: no tables, no benches, no concrete floors, etc.
But after playing around with it some more, somehow it started working and I can indeed place them on most flat areas. So uh... if at first you don't succeed, restart a few times and keep trying. Endorsed because it does what it says it does
Not to sounds rude but what is the best kind to download for this kind of mods, because planters like this should have already been in the game and i would really like this

I made an update to this mod here: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/62396
I also made it ESP-FE to save you a plugin slot.
Enjoy!

Yeah, its a little tricky to place the crops, but, with Place Everywhere, its not too bad.
I have both MODs, just for some variety.

Thank you very much!
This mod is a good alternative for those players who don't have Wasteland Workshop.
But after playing around with it some more, somehow it started working and I can indeed place them on most flat areas. So uh... if at first you don't succeed, restart a few times and keep trying. Endorsed because it does what it says it does
It makes your life muuuuch easier, it's great to build xD
