An alternate mod is available that covers all trash cans in the Commonwealth, if anyone is interested.

I'm hopeful but leery, because "Diamond City Binraider" caused CTDs.

I don't see any complaints here, but I didn't see any there, either.

EDIT: I got a CTD with this mod, too. So somebody created a Diamond City mod incompatible with all trashcan mods, but I don't have enough time or interest to create a chart and log in a dozen or so times to see which combo causes crashes.

If only there existed a very handy tool to diagnose such problems.

So...this only makes the trash cans in Diamond City unowned? I could swear that I've seen other trash cans set to Owned, like in Goodneighbor.

The fact that in Fallout 3, New Vegas, AND 4 you are considered evil for being a bum and picking trash is so weird. It defeats the "wastelandesque" atmosphere of the entire game. It's amazing. It's like a psychological mindfuck on everyone who purchases the game. One day, someone will interview Bethesda and ask them these simple questions of "among other things, why is the player character violently assaulted and killed for picking trash?"

Let me tell you a story.

It's not been this bad in a long, long time. Since many moons ago, on that fated day, 11/11/11. This is just like that day. I can not put fallout down, probably thousands of hours lost to the wastelands.

That being said, I began to seek out a true challenge. Something that made my success depend completely on my own situational awareness. If I didn't see them and take them out, they gonna get me first. No combat music queues to tell me ahead of time, or even if we're in combat (unless they're a deathclaw or worse). No HUD, realistic lighting, lone wandering, No VATS / Power Armor, locational damage, stealth / ai overhaul, yadda yadda.

So I put this list together. I sought out the finest minds and we got to work. I compiled everything I could find. Three assistants lost their lives fighting back the abyss and the beasts that lurked within, known to us normal folk as "incompatibilities." But we did it.

A few days ago I set foot into that man made singularity of realistic immersive chaos. It was beautiful, yet mad. Akin only to the realms of shivering isles if they were to meet the post thermonuclear apocalypse. It was Immersive, difficult, rewarding, but most importantly... perfect. And therein lies the problem.

Too well do we probably all know, a modlist is never complete. There will never be perfection. We can always kick things up a notch. Turn the realism turbo up to 11 VTEC's. So I did.

That's where it all went wrong.

    I decided to install WotC.

Now, at this point, I had played about 6 hours before I released that sadistic, yet amazing, multi-cored kraken. And when I install something like that, I refuse to give up, uninstall or save scum my way back. It was merely another obstacle. Sure, probably a mistake so early, but was going to commit to my mistakes. I would become the true grey fox/legolas the wasteland had ever seen.

So I had hoped. 16 hours later, still stuck in diamond city... things started to look bleak. Health, near gone. infection rampant. Diamond city already picked dry by me in theif mode, in attempts to pay for some excursion to get through the wasteland back to the settlement, which was in need of my help. No caps to pay for beds to sleep, nor food, ammo or meds.

My only solution was to wait. I needed a few more rare materials to craft my bow and arrow, and surely then I could return like a legendary maelstrom. They'd call me the Odysseus of the Commonwealth. Until then, it was all about survival. A mutfruit here, a scrap of meat from the remains of a battle outside the main gate amongst the warring factions.

Hours went by, then days, weeks.

Ballistic weave. Such a mysteriously beautiful, yet malevolent beast. No merchants had it, no shops sold it. I couldn't scrap anything for it, since my level was too low. I only needed one more.

However, there *was* one that I knew of. At least I thought there was. Chances are it very well could have been a mirage... or a trap. That's irrelevant, however. Or is it? After much extensive searching, running, getting shot at, hiding and maybe a little bit of a bowel movement, I had made the affirmation that the only one within the point of no return, was in a trash can.

Now, not everyone (or most anyone for that matter) may know how painful it was seeing that last piece of the puzzle-lock of hell that I was trapped in, yet no way to get it. But let me tell you, things will happen to a man's mind if he get's busted/killed/blown up/stabbed and or disintegrated one too many times trying to get something so vital.

BUT THEN! I installed this mod. Since I didn't console command it myself, then it's fair game, and the run was saved. All thanks to you.

    ------------------

Ok yeah so I made most of that up. But it *was* a rather annoying, slightly embellished situation.

Anyway, just wrote a story to pass the 15 mins so I could endorse and not forget. Good work on the mod.

    Happy modding!

Damn dude! kudos for the story. Kept me amused lol!

About to try the mod in game for the first time. I have no doubts it's going to be awesome! I'll be back to endorse when the time allows me. I don't have the brain power for an awe inspiring, tantalizing tale, just my endorsement,
