Agreed, and it still works even in 2021! And on top of everything you said, the added bonus is that it doesn't mess with dialogues, so you never lose the option to ask him for his opinion on [Relationship] while he's in power armor unlike with other mods that do the same thing.
The only issue is that when you get Danse out of power armor he'll "forever" stare to one side for some reason. Luckily, this can easily be resolved by fast traveling or switching between interior/exterior cells.
An update on something. I have found that when using this with Rhutos Unlimited Followers mod on can lock their companions in their power armor which would allow this gun to not affect them which is great during powered armor enemy clusters
I don't suppose there's any way that you would be able to make the gun also change ownership of armor pieces to you? I was already wearing a set I'd found laying about nearby, and had Piper get inside it (I'm not sure if this is what caused it, or if the armor pieces would have still been considered stolen regardless). When I finally made it back home, I found that it was owned. Could've been because of Piper, or it could've been the raider I got it from, I'm not sure. But either way, I'd rather not have it messing with my crime stats.
I would assume it could be possible, but until then I would suggest using buildable power armor frames by lapdragon. Which would allow you to scrap the frame and rebuild it as an unowned "purchased" frame. Though you'd have to make sure to take off all the armor pieces beforehand though to prevent losing them, and their is a way to unequip the parts as unstolen, by unequipping them at a power armor station.
Hmm, also this weapon does make me think a bit impressively.... Like what if West-Tek, the lore defined creators of power armor wanted to make a weapon/tool that could be used to temporarily disable fusion powered technologies, from the simplest of robot, to the most advanced form of armor. To be used against any rouge technology, or people using said technology.
I bring you the "West-Tek EMP launcher" designed to temporarily halt fusion based technologies. Designed mere months before the "big kaboom" as it were
Though before this can become a reality it would need a mesh and texture makeover. And have different mods to determine what it could affect, by default without mods it would use fusion cells, but would only temporarily "shutdown" simple robots, like mister handys, next mod would change the ammo to 2mmEC ammo, and would allow the temporary "shutdown" of assaultrons aswell as simple robots, next mod would change the ammo to plasma cartridges which would allow the gun to melt through sentrybot armor and temporarily "shut them down" aswell as all robots in general. And finally, the final mod would change the weapon to require a special ammo made out of hard to get/build materials, but would allow for the complete temporary shutdown of all previously mentioned devices including power armor And all of these mods would require various perks to craft however.
I mean sure there could also be more utility mods such as a mod for the gun to auto hack any device instantly, completely bypassing the minigames and without opening the terminal's menu xD
I agree with that concept, and ironically enough wanted this gun to actually effect robots (including synth, though sadly generation 3 synths are actually Human based on the game mechanics) with a temporary shutdown, but as it is the new scripting language is far more confusing to me that it used to be (Fallout 3, and New Vegas), and bethesda's "tutorials" and "Sample Scripts" only aid in adding more confusion, they really need to work on their wiki for scripting...
I have temporarily put this mod on the back burner, while I attempt to get a few more mods here available to the Bethesda.net people, but when I do come back to it, expect to see this getting changed to a Mini E.M.P. Blaster (name pending).

Agreed, the model does need a change xD but with time Also I would like to ask if a blacklist could be made for it. Since I found that by accedently shooting the "power armor" npc (from powerarmor autopilot) with it, causes an unimmersive thing to happen xD. So a restriction would be nice, even as a custom command to make npc not affected by it.
You have me intrigued Electrosus912. What unimmersive thing has happened to you? I do not have that mod, and am not sure how the autopilot function works, for making this mod work with robots, etc, i was thinking it would be best to check to see if the user has the isinpower armor keyword (this is not the actual name, i forget what that is offhand), but if that mod uses some dummy AI to get into the power armor like a person would it may still link that keyword, causing the gun to not be able to differentiate between an auto pilot and a npc. As for a blacklist, I would have to link this mod to that mod for that to work, and I would prefer to not require any external mods if possible. Please do elaborate as to the un-immersive thing though, you have spiked my curiosity.
Basically for the blacklist I mean something as simple as an ingame command, where you'd click the npc and type something like "ignoreemp" or something along those lines, or even by typing for example "refid.ignoreemp", which could affect any npc in theory. And basically what happens with auto-pilot is that when this npc is hit with the "emp" the dummy npc leaves the armor, and also makes a duplicate of the npc in the powerarmor xD And while having a headless npc as a companion would be interesting, it's not immersive xD
Great idea! I might see if I can stick the script or effect of this on a harpoon gun from Far Harbor for my own personal use. Don't know why, but in my mind for some reason it would make sense that a harpoon shot at power armor would disable it and make the person have to get out. Don't know how to rationalize that one, just kinda feels right... anyway, great mod!
Actually it is a simple damage type, like energy damage, so can easily be placed on any weapon in the game. What I really want is for the power armor to have electric shocks and smoke when hit, if anyone out there can assist with this I would be greatful.
