Hey, I saw that Place Anywhere was updated and I wanted to uninstall this mod and deleted the dll and text doc, but f4se is still trying to load it and not allowing the game to start, is there somewhere else I should look to fully uninstall this mod?
Fr I have been sitting here refreshing the page every 10 minutes, for the past 3 hours while on my phone. So it would be very helpful to have an ETA. I cannot play Fallout without this mod xd. Much love to the creator for his swift action though. We shan't let Todd defeat us!
I started using the 'PlaceInRed.dll (v4)' of this mod a couple days ago, together with the most recent/new NG updated F4SE v 0.7.1. Everything has been working PERFECT ♥. The last time I played was last night. I start up my game this afternoon, and now I also get this same pop-up error message. To my knowledge, none of my game and mod files have changed while I was asleep*----boggles my mind, LOL! *scratches head* >_<
EDIT: (* = Only partially true, while my files did indeed not change whilst I slept...I did in fact install an update for a different mod (mentioned in another comment below).
Same problem for me as well. Worked fine 2 hours ago, and now I get that same message after downloading and installing, "Achievements Mods Enabler - ver. 1.41".
I disabled the mod, "Achievements Mods Enabler - ver. 1.41" and then the game loaded without getting this message. So there does appear to be a conflict between these two mods that signals the warning message from F4SE.
To be clear, I have only downloaded and installed the "PlaceInRed.dll (v4)" from here.
Wooo, good thing you mentioned that, "Achievements Mods Enabler - ver. 1.41"...
I also use that mod, but last night, I was using its previous version ('Achievements Mods Enabler v1.3' ), in conjunction with its 'DLL Loader v1.61', which were/are both working perfect even with/while the new F4SE v0.7.1 was/is also installed.
Then I noticed that AME had a new update today ('Achievements Mods Enabler v1.41' ), along with its 'DLL Loader v1.72', and I installed it (but not the new 'DLL Loader', since it's no longer needed if using the new 'F4SE v0.7.1' )...then I started getting this error message pop-up while using 'PlaceInRed.dll (v4)'.
So then I reverted my AME back to its previous version ('AME v1.3' ) AND also installed again, its 'DLL Loader v1.61' ---and I don't get the error message pop-up anymore--- everything works fine again, with this mod's 'PlaceInRed.dll (v4)', and with 'F4SE v0.7.1' also installed.
Summary: If you use the new 'Achievements Mods Enabler v1.41' update that came out today, it is causing some kind of conflict with this mod's 'PlaceInRed.dll (v4)'. Solution: Revert back to the previous versions of AME and DLL Loader (both work fine with F4SE v0.7.1).
This mod's 'PlaceInRed.dll (v4)' is still working as advertised.
Yup, that is why I mentioned that other mod in my opening post.
I do wonder if the Achievements mod is still working on the previous release, no wonder why it shouldn't. This needs to be mentioned on that modders page.
Great information from both of you guys, just one problem, the files are archived and I had no idea how to download them. If there is supposed to be an option for that, my browser must be rude because I didn't see it.
What I did find, was an old skyrim thread that provided me with a link template, and the browser inspection lines to look for, to get the info I needed to force my way into the archived download page.
Sorry for my english. Do not install AME. Not needed. RedInPlace.dll has same function but default option is off. On main menu open the console and type 'pir 7'. And voila.
Edit: I found an automatic solution.
Add the following lines to Fallout4Custom.ini [General] sStartingConsoleCommand=pir 7
@igotmoxy Woo, nice find, thanks for the info, should be helpful for others having the same problem! Kudos! o7 :)
@Hexina
You stinker! Don't steal our thunder! LMAO! As soon as you mentioned that, OMG, it clicked in my head that I remembered reading about it on the description page AND it's also included within the download archive's README file---indeed you are correct! LOL! THANK YOU for the reminder! And Kudos to you too, pfft! *can't stop giggling thinking about this* \o/ :D
Spoiler:
Show
'Place in Red - Reborn' comes with a built in achievements unlocker, but needs to be Enabled (Disabled by Default), as stated on the description page and within the archive's README file. :D
Dangit, as much as I would love to use PIRR's built-in achievements unlocker (cuz not having to use AME is one less chance of a problem/conflict occurring, hehe), I unfortunately need to stick with AME for now, for one singular reason...using PIRR's built-in achievements unlocker would mean I need to have it installed permanently at all times, for the achievements unlocker's 'Fallout4Custom.ini console command' to work/be enabled at all times. I actually swap PIRR in and out, and only use it for emergencies (when I come across something that is preventing me from doing something with vanilla mechanics), for the following reason:
Using PIRR makes all objects outlines to be the same colour (for me it's white), but while not using it I can still see/distinguish between scrappable objects (yellow outline) and objects that are moveable (green by default, white for me). I like having the ability to distinguish between scrap objects (yellow outline) and normal objects (white outlines), I'm nitpicky, ugh, lol. *long sigh* xD
This mod 'Place In Red - Reborn' actually has A LOT of features, that I bet A LOT of people use several different/seperate mods to get the same features that all come with just this ONE mod---for this reason alone, 'Place In Red - Reborn' gets my VOTE for this month! ♥
Looking at the full list of features included in this mod, I could eliminate 3-4 other mods I currently use, if I had PIRR installed/enabled permanently/at all times... but sadly, I guess we are creatures of habit, lol. *long defeated sigh* xD ♥
@LisbethSAO White/yellow outline problem: You can enable/disable the mod with 'pir 1' console command in-game. Hotkey configuration instructions in the README.txt
I actually did try to use the achievement unlocker script in PIRR and got a CTD when I tried to save my game lol. It works, but I had to re-enable the script every time I loaded into the game. Seeing now that we could add in a line to the ini file seems clutch, but like Lisbeth said, creature of habit... plus I spent like an hour and change trying to figure out how to download those damn files so i'm gonna use them on principal.
also Kudos to both of you, I don't actually know how to give those out because I've never used the site for more than downloading mods and reading these discussions for fixes to problems lol.
Sooner or later, I do plan to use PIRR permanently installed (once I get over my yellow outlines OCD, lol!), I also saved that .ini line to a text file to save for that occasion (thanks again for that Hexina! ♥).
If you're curious on how to give Kudos to others, if you click a user's name, it's a link that sends you to their profile page, there you can find a button to give them a Kudos. To be honest, I never really thought of it when I first started modding, but many others have helped me solve problems in the past with some great info, and it's nice to be able to give those people I appreciate an extra thank you, via a Kudos, hehe. o7
Hey guys, I've been busy with work, but I'm still working on the plugin when I am able to.
Still working on implementing scaling and locking items. I'm making progress, still going to be a few days (at least)
Next version the achievements feature will be toggled/enabled by default. It will also be optional to load placeinred.dll. So if there are conflicts with achievements and other mods, the plugin loads, but that feature just doesnt work.
I will release v5 this weekend with what i get done
I can only toggle no ground snapping and no outline, they work fine but I couldnt get others to work. I am playing on xbox pc version I odnt know if it has anything to do with my problem but it is the reason that I cannot use the f4se.

F4SE plugin PlaceInRed.dll v7 (optional file) | released 2024-05-13:
- Compiled to work with f4se_1_10_980/984
- v7 ReadMe .txt direct link
- v7 .DLL source code
The only file for .163 is the cheat table.
For the F4SE plugin download the optional file.
That's the only place f4se loads plugins from.
F4SE plugin will be updated as soon as the new version is released.
I downloaded the optional file version and installed it via MO. Got the correct version of FOSE installed. Yet this error message is produced...
any ideas what is wrong, thanks.
Using next gen version of the game.
BTW this has just started to happen, since updating the Achievements enabler mod..."Achievements Mods Enabler" ver 1.41
Everything has been working PERFECT ♥.
