6/10/2016 50th endorsement...im glad it's likeable to you guys. if you have any retexture suggestions besides worn wood which is still being worked on please comment here.
also any other suggestions are welcomed, but let me address what i think would be the top one which is removing the magazine. Its just not possible right now due to animations being tied to the way the player character holds the weapon. trust me guys i tried. just think of it as a T20E
Thanks everyone for all the downloads and the endorsements. I've been insanely busy with work and as a result (sadly) dont have much time to work on the Garand, however now that my hours are more reasonable i can get back to working on the gun.
I know this is an old mod, but maybe you could release the model with the magazine by itself? There was an experimental version of the Garand called the T20E2 that used a magazine, and it would be something totally unique to the other WWII weapon mods here on the Nexus ^^
what do you mean they wont line up? is it too low? if so im having the same problem idk what went wrong because i had it working before. im going to check the ESP's and change whats wrong and then update files.
I just downloaded and installed a couple of days ago. It's great the M1 is getting some love BUT the sight picture still doesn't/can't line up properly. The top of the front blade sight is ALWAYS right at or just below the top of the rear aperture sight.
Google the correct sight picture for iron sights and you'll see what I mean.
thanks for that browncoatgarrus, ill do some searching, but for now im going to work on the garand exclusively for now. im currently in the process of the "Nuka Cola M1 Platinum" a M1 that was made by Nuka Cola for promotional purposes to compete with Vim's Ambassador power armor marketing.
Covadonga, who made the 1918BAR mod here is working on a mauser rifle that can be turned into many variants, including the k carbine type. There's also a standalone mod set for the hunting rifle by Galejro that makes it a 98k, it's marked as not lore friendly so you may need to change your search settings.
Now, as for the people that claim that this is not a M1 Garand, as a rifle collector and a WWII historian, I can say without a doubt that this IS a M1 Garand with or without the BAR clip. You have to take into account that there were more than one manufacturer for all weapons, tanks, planes, willys jeep. A particular M1 Garand with a mag was called an M1 conversion rifle, the top feeding clip is the "stock" rifle. They also had 2 different types of ammunition. A 30-06 and the .30 cal which was produced during the later years of the war, as well as for other Allied countries that used or made the different caliber of ammunition. Countries that couldn't manufacture the rifle but could afford making ammunition normally got the 30-06 version from Springfield Armory.
Hopefully that will put the discussion to rest.
BTW I am DL & fulling endorsing this mod, hopefully the ping sound will be added someday.
Any chance of fully aligned sights? The gun shoots at the bottom of the middle prong at the front of the rifle, an easy fix might just be to shorten the front sight. So it's lower from the view of the peep sight.
Its not really holding the air, the fingers on the right side are holding the gun, there is just a space at the bottom but there isn't a way to fix this without messing up the gun position
