You only have to enter the console command once per character. If you did it every time you saved the game, you were just tragically wasting your time on something unnecessary.
How many times did you restart the game for a new character? I've done it a lot of times only because after a while I get tired of playing the same thing, and when I loop back around, the mods have had updates. I don't know why else anyone would want to replay this game as many times as it would take to get tired of entering a simple console command.
@Jeremiahj17 I don't think it's about the chore of typing in a command so much as the complete lack of immersion that comes from having to do that every time.
I'd rather have a simple mod that unlocks it automatically than having to use a console, even if its a simple command. Also, More Weaves doesn't unlock it, and its weaves aren't as good as Ballistic (they are more like leveling weaves until you finish the Railroad quests and can get the real thing).
Huh? You would rather download a mod than use a console command? Mods are way more likely to cause glitches than console commands. That's like when someone has 100+ mods active and they're surprised the game is glitchy. The more mods, the more glitches. Mod only in moderation.
Do you think you could add the BOS paint jobs to the relevant NPCs as well? So a spawned BOS Paladin would wear the Paladin paint, a Sergeant the Sergeant's etc.
With the way spawned items are handled, it would be difficult to add that. It's the same issue with using the command console to spawn weapons - they have random mods on it.

It also adds in proper requirements for the extra paints, Sentinal unlocking the Elder paint.
