With a base of 7 and +2 from clothes I still failed three medium (orange) checks with the extended version of this mod installed. I'm not sure what's wrong, though notably even before installing the mod I had the vast majority of my speech checks fail in my current playthrough, so maybe I'm just cursed. EDIT: After installing the other version of the mod instead, I successfully passed the speech checks! I kinda wanted the nuance from the extended version, but at least this way seems to work as expected.

Works fine for me. Perhaps you have another mod that affects speech checks that's conflicting with this one. Try putting this one lower in your load order.
