This mod has always worked well for me, and I endorsed it, but I recently found something even better (see below). I installed this mod manually, sat in the middle of my fairly short load order (of a dozen or so varied mods) as I wasn't sure where to put it and doubt it'd make much difference to my loadout anyway.
My only criticism is it's listed as a misc item and thus can't be favourited. So I have to look it up and drop it to use it. So I've recently started using a nearly identical nexus mod called A Simple Sleeping Bag which is listed as an aid. Once favourited you just click the hotkey for that one and it'll appear at your feet. So much quicker. It is also lighter - weighing only 1 lb whereas this one weighs 5 lbs. Ok, 5 lbs may be more realistic, but I'm not playing hardcore and mostly just use these things as a simple wait-anywhere mechanism anyway...
But otherwise both mods work the same and vanish after you use them. Both work with romanced companions, you even see them waking up on your sleeping bag if they were close enough when you went to sleep. And both mods have a little random bug that sometimes generates two bags when you craft them, so it might be a weird crafting bug rather than a mod-specific one. But you can simply shove the extra one in a cupboard (or, if you prefer, just deploy it and walk away without using it).
Works perfectly fine. Using the latest version of Fallout 4 (v .163) and no problems what so ever
Works even with a heavy mod setup of over 120 installed mods. Also this mod is loaded last on my list as a coincidence because I recently installed it mid-game. But loading it last on the list for you may also help if you are having any issues.
Also, as a general rule, do not use Vortex to install mods. 99% of the time, if a simple mod does not work, it's because Vortex did not install it properly.
You're full of crap about Vortex and are doing nothing but spreading misinformation. I use nothing but Vortex for modding all of my games and have never once had an issue. Problems happen because users are too dumb to figure out how things work, either because they're incapable of understanding how modding works, refuse to properly learn about it, or both.
Dear Revontuletcxvii, if you were even less "dumb" you'd always mod manually (as I do), or at least be smart enough to not cat-call people "full of crap" or "dumb" for merely having issues with a mod manager. Such things aren't flawless, which is why I always do things manually (and which means I always have at least half a clue when issues do arise...).
also me: having 603 mods active...am I unimmersive for having this much mod (0_0) ???? they work perfectly fine though using mo2...and why is this guy (RevontuletCXVII) calling this guy (BlixBlueCrip) dumb for being able to make it work?... (0_o)?? I install mod manually on mo2 to search for CTD inducing conflicts and resolving it by adjusting plugin load orders and resolve script conflicts and choose who wins and loses on conflicts and to decide which mod to keep and delete (priority mods vs still good without it mod)... because loot is not always your go to instant fix magic pill.. I agree with the guy who said don't install some mods using vortex most of the time i used it before switching to mo2 it has limitations although its user friendly than mo2..but it has a knack for not installing some mods for some reasons, I had to learn using mo2 from YT tutorials and exploring it with lots of trial and errors and yes I also hit the dreaded 250 plugin limit and learn to overcome it with the help from other fo4 players. don't call someone stupid if they differ to your own opinion.. it's based on his experience not yours..
I used to use this a lot, but it's really flaky in my latest game. Sometimes the bed jumps about or just sits on the ground and won't activate any more and I have to leave it and make a new one, making me worry it will cause Save Game Bloat as this is the second bed I've had to leave behind. It's gonna be a problem after a while... Can't fix it. Maybe it's cos I'm in VR? I've looked at it in Edit, but the number version is fine.
I really like the idea of this mod (I use something very similar in Skyrim), but cannot get the sleeping bag to appear when dropping it - I have tried dropping on many different flat surfaces (as recommended), and the sleeping bag never shows up for me to sleep on it. Has anyone come up with a fix for this? Thank you in advance!
Very simple mod yet it works most of the time. Can get stuck on the ground if not enough flat surface and you can't use it anymore, so I edit for myself the weight from 5 to 3 and always carry two sleeping bags. For those who are wondering- in survival you can sleep in this bag for maximum of 3 hours ( enough for a partial healing and saving the game), just like in other sleeping bags. EDIT: I have also "Player Collision Options" mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/41866), maybe the "stuck" problem is caused by it.
