Ironically, he actually reduced its damage potential by adding to the magazine. With only one shot it can always benefit from Defiant, which doubles the damage of the last shot in the magazine, but with 2 shots, you only get that benefit on half your shots. I suppose it depends on whether +25% on half your shots and +125% on the other half is better overall than +100% on all shots, but twice as slow?
okay but he can make another file if he wanted with higher damage the legendary effect is not always the answer atleast not with the harpoon gun cause the guns harpoons are no very precise.
Why do you want to increase the magazine size? Ammo for the gun is cheap as is. Damage is fine on the weapon as well as it does quite a bit. It's easy to get legendary version does double damage at full health.
cause the F***ing 1 mag size.it not relevent to shoot a weapon that cant kill something(aka angler) in one shot at least half it health even with a lengendary.
i dont really see the point in increasing the mag size either. the damage i can understand since ur firing a harpoon AKA big arrow, but it still has 1 mag.
I dont know if you play on easy or whatever, but I got that legendary one with double damage to full hp, also I got the double big gun damage perk, and the gun barely does anything. I increased the mag size because the weapon feels so useless.
ACE1020: Its a harpoon gun. It's meant to only shoot one shot at a time. Shooting something down that is meant to be bulky in health in one shot is just stupid as fuck. You might as well play with cheats enabled if you're that bad.
Yeadude: I play on hard and have no problem with it. There are 3 modifications for the gun and the shotgun version is extremely powerful when you use it on Skipper's Last Stand as it has little spread at range and one to two shots a lot. Rifleman perk is a must with the weapon and finding one with Two Shot modification would be overpowered. Like the guy above, you need to know how to play.
No dude. I played on hard when first playing the DLC. Using my modded playthrough for a reference would be stupid. I use this when playing on my actual playthrough. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/222/? I go with 5x damage to player and 1.5x damage to enemies. What difficulty do you play on?
I play Very Hard on the character I use this mod for. Now lets just end this conversation here, and let people do what they want. That's the beauty of modding.
While I do not agree with thedouble mag size, I would LOVE to see this gun have an auto loader added for increased load time. I too am on survival and it doesnt do shit.
Kudos to you. I have the penetrating and instigating harpoon guns and shot a ruthless trapper in the head and he took 1/7 damage! While trying to reload I switched to my .44 and killed him quickly. Hopefully this will make the gun somewhat useful in survivor mode.

Gauss Rifle > Harpoon gun
Broadsider > Harpoon gun
thats why... vanila version of this weapon is useless novelty even with Instigating prefix
However best balance (for Survival at least) i found out that 3 shots and 180 base dmg works best. Not too op and not too weak (Burst/DPS wise)
