The base game cells are all modded. I'm working on the DLCs yet.
There are 3 issues I expect to be reported, none of them will break your game or your save.
1. Performance - Shadow caster and Godray caster lights may affect your performance, so be descriptive when reporting this, if possible with a screenshot of the angle you get the hit, because I need to know which light may be causing the problem. Also, try changing the shadow resolution to "iShadowMapResolution=2048" or to "3072" on your Fallout4Prefs.ini under [Display] too, it will increase the performance for Ultra users.
Don't use mods that allows you to edit interiors, mods that let you scrap everything.
Also DO NOT DISABLE THE PRECOMB/PREVIS SYSTEM!
2. Invisible walls, this is a mod conflict, some other mod is disabling or editing the Precomb/Previs system of that cell, you gotta hand pick your environmental mods, because if you move a single candle belonging to a precombined mesh, it will disable it.
List any lighting and interior mods when reporting a performance issue.
3. Weirdly placed FX - this one is simple, I usually hide all the FX layer in Creation Kit to work on the lights, so it's possible I forgot to work on them in some cells.
I cant really tell the difference too much, but i suppose its not meant to be. Well im happy with lighting. Works on NG.
I suppose only thing i have noticed are the godrays shining through the windows and cracks in the walls. Those do look cool.
EDIT: I walked around indoors (and half indoors - like in half-destroyed houses) in evening and then at night with flashlight and man... Actually i can tell the difference! This lighting adds interesting colors and light effects. Hard to explain, but you can feel it. Definetly worth a mod!
Apparently this mod is not compatible with FlaconOil's Retexture and Optimized Vanilla Texture as they create invisible walls in interiors. Or is it an issue with a different mod?
EDIT: Nvm it was a precombine patch that was the issue
So i want to lower gpu util how would i do that with this mod cause with it. It would be at 90 to 80 using a rtx 4080 super at 4k no performance drop at 120 fps just want to lower the util so its not running on 60 temp the entire time so anyone know a good solution?
I'm no expert with pc's and modding this game, but from what I understand over the years, performance in this game is just rough. I would imagine running the game at 4k along with visual mods would do a number to any card. I have fan speeds turned up a little which gets me where I need to be with mine, but I'd expect you to have done that atleast
its not a fps problem its a gpu utilization issue i don't want to overheat my gpu and its fine running at 120 fps but saying anything above 60c will hurt the gpu i just wanted to know what would ease the stress of the gpu but that doesn't matter now as i had to reformat my drives so i got to remake my modlist but hey thanks for trying to help.
i agree, i play this game with a 4060rtx and still get big fps hits on big cities with low config or ultra config, doesnt matter what i do i always get fps loss in big places
well that is less the mod and more downtown boston its always kinda been like that same with east of the cit ruins and its worse late game as the game would be more prone to crashing its like that because of how much "gang" warfare happens over there between the old ruins of boston. also my issue has been fixed i just read something wrong *Shrug*
Just in case this happens to you, mine CTDs on Cambridge Police Station, Monsignor Plaza, and Hotel Rexford. I just discovered the last when the game teleported me there for the date with Magnolia. Confirmed by walking into the building the normal way.
Still an awesome mod. I just disable the plugin when I need to go to one of those places.
Correct me if im wrong, but ELF seems to break sneaking system. I installed ELF and everyone is blind and no longer detect me indoor unless I touch them. Uninstalling the mod reverts the AI to normally aware.
Yes but this mod breaks so many locations, that it isn't worth it. For example, ELFX breaks the Vault 111 elevator and gate, so when you first enter after the prologue, your character (and all of the others on the platform) will be stuck in midair on an invisible platform. The ONLY way to progress, is to TCL down to the bottom. ELFX also causes huge amounts of missing walls/textures (especially in Mechanist's Lair). You'll be constantly disabling/reenabling to fix problems and it's just not worth it.
This mod looks great but running it with PsychoLUT makes the interiors so dark that I need to constantly use my flashlight which defeats the purpose...
Why cant this work with mods that scrap everything? i would also like to be able to get rid of some very ugly stuff in my settlements such as debris. and for interiors what happens if i do have a mod like live in, where it adds and removes clutter? will there be no shadows or is it more severe?
You're wrong. It is not recommended to install bUseCombinedObjects=0. It is not recommended to deletes anything outside of the settlements. If you follow these guidelines, you won't have any problems.
It does but it also breaks Vault 111. After the prologue, when it loads Vault 111 interior for the first time, the elevator will disappear and strand you halfway up the shaft, forcing you to TCL to the bottom. Shortly after, you may see the your spouse and the others plummet to the ground and "die". It also causes missing interior walls (like in Vault 111, the Mechanist's Lair, and others).
I use ELFX with ultra interior lighting and ultra exterior lighting I do several tests before starting a new game I activate the map markers with the command tmm 1 to make quick trips to certain places to check if everything is working properly I choose the places where I personally have encountered problems such as the high school technical DB or shelter 111 and precisely in shelter 111 I had problems as mentioned by some I had activated the patches in the fomod for ENB there are two ENBLightHDRPatch. esp et ELFX_ENBLight_Patch.esp.
and it seems that the first one is causing problems in the 111 shelter and certainly in other places too. deactivating this one solves the problem, I suppose that deactivating the two would be just as good, or even not ticking them in the fomod installation.after there is also the problem of order of the plugins which is important for my part I placed ELFX in bottom of the order
