Please, stop complaining about NPCs falling off the rooftops... Bethesda didn't really Navmesh these areas well, which means AI can't properly navigate them, so sometimes they fall. Yes, it loads in a lot more NPCs, so your frames will drop probably. Some people love my mod, some don't, but please... Stop being disrespectful.
This mod is cool but I wish there was a way to turn it down a bit. Walking through Cambridge and seeing 20 triggermen on one roof, 15 raiders on another, and a hoard of supermutants including a couple behemoths on different roof (how did the big fellas get up there? The roof would collapse) is kind of crazy and unrealistic.
damn this is such a cool mod, it's a shame it crashes so damn often with it loaded in the game. it's crazy when you suddenly see gunners jumping off of high roof tops lol, they die on impact, then there are the ones in power armor which were more than likely supposed to jump off.
There are so many spawns added everywhere that raiders are falling off the roofs and breaking their legs. This turns boston downtown and other large city areas into a total warzone causing CTD or massive lag because all of the AI starts fighting each other. Without this mod installed I get 30-40fps in downtown (coc GoodneighborExt) running ultra settings at 3440x1440 and mostly 4k textures and no PRP or previs mods. WITH this mod I get 7-14 fps and so many lag spikes I usually end up crashing and boston sounds like a freaking CoD multiplayer map with all the AI rampaging everywhere.
If you play with mods like MAIM the NPCs who fall off the roofs everywhere you go will just break their legs and sit down. Not compatible.
If you play with mods like PANPC the NPCs will crash your game. Not compatible.
If you're trying to make the game hardcore, this adds so many enemies you will either die or be swimming in loot by the time you leave Concord. Not compatible.
If you play with infinite ammo and just want more stuff to shoot at and don't care about bloat or immersion, this is your mod.
This happens because Bethesda didn't really do any Navmeshing to the rooftop areas, so the AI can't properly navigate it. Yes, it is meant to increase fighting and chaos just like the parent mod War of the Commonwealth. Also, this mod isn't friendly with potato PCs or people maxing their cards to the limit, because that limit will be exceeded when all the extra NPCs get loaded in.
It is a pitty that this mod is "dead". But we all know that a mod can be "dead" for long years and resurrect in a blink of an eye. We can only hope, and wait.
Like the author said, "I'd like to streamline my placements only to locations that make complete sense, instead of just mashed out everywhere on rooftops." It would be nice to have a version of this mod more "immersive". That version would be a must have/essential mod in my gameplays.
I would say that the main reason mods die is when the game is still receiving updates. Heck, there was a Fallout 4 update, not so long ago, that broke my modded gameplay entirely. That is why I always use this in all my gameplays :) (there is also a Skyrim version of that mod, that I also always use, just in case you know...)
The game receives Creation Club updates, that's it. I wouldn't really call them updates, more like lame cash grab attempts. I haven't played FO4 for years, so yes, the mod is dead. I have no interest in delving back into modding fallout 4 because there's so many games right now captivating my attention lol
Tried this on my first play, when you get to concord all the raiders are at the entrance of the town waiting for you, also on the roof, you have ~0% chance to win lol (normal dif)
Yes, this was intentional. If you just so happened to walk out the vault, the world wouldn't suddenly be easier until you leveled up... The challenges would be great right from the start! With my larger mod War of the Commonwealth, you may come out of the vault only to find you're being chased by a huge pack of feral ghouls including a legendary glowing one... to me that's more immersive, because the world wouldn't be weaker and harder enemies just non-existent because you're weak... Better level up that stealth fast lol
ATTENTION This is easily one of my favorite mods, but if you're playing a heavily modded game, it has serious compatibility issues that can result in CTDs. Many of these problems DO NOT show up in LOOT. Even the other 'Lite' version is risky in this regard. Precise FO4 management needed.
HORRIBLE ADVICE That is horrible advice with good intentions. Either you learn to fix conflicts right or you trust LOOT, mod managers, and patches and trash your game blindly. Option 1 use FO4Edit, run conflict checker, run error checker, run the cleaner, drag and drop to fix things. Option 2 add mods and never know your game is full of conflicts, errors, and dirty edits. Spend hours seeking bugs and CTD. Mods conflict with mods. A lamp mod can conflict with a mustache. No reasons to kill good mods posting DO NOT USE because you don't know how to mod without conflicts.
I will help anyone learn to mod without these issues. This will end 90% of CTD and mystery bugs and you will not be restricted by 255 esp limit either. You are reading this because you came here wanting this mod. You could be enjoying it right now and many others you wanted too. The light version is the modern overhaul. I use it. I merged it with 4 other area mods and have no conflicts. It's awesome.
Correct, I am reading your response because I do want this mod. I edited my original post to be less disrespectful. I did a lot of the stuff you mentioned long before this post. Just because I didn't mention it, doesn't mean I didn't do it. A lot of people don't like jumping hoops to get mods working.
I did use Fo4edit, and found that the "boston fps fix" or whatever it was called conflicted with it if memory serves me right. It's been a while since I stopped using it. This was the only real conflict I was able to find, which I resolved *by hand* because the auto version wasn't fixing them for me.
Running the crash auto scanner told me on several different occasions that it was an "incorrect memory settings" issue. I do have an enb installed, and with 16GB RAM, I set memory size to 14000. I tweaked this constantly to try to mitigate the issue, and drew the conclusion that you need beefy RAM to actually properly use this mod. If I'm right about that, which maybe I am, maybe I'm not, then that means quite a lot of people can't actually use it. Equally as likely is my game is corrupted in such a way that it can't handle this particular mod. I think I did a test several months back on the same save where I uninstalled every mod I had except this one, and it was still crashing specifically while using it.
I did spend hours on this, and you're right, I could have spent even more hours on it, searching through FO4Edit by hand (even though I didn't see other conflict in it) but the side you're not seeing, my side, is that I've got too much life on my plate to fix it, and so do many other people.
If you aren't prepared to spend more time modding the game than playing it with a heavy mod setup, then I wouldn't play with mods... It's the nature of the beast when modding, and Bethesda games in particular takes some extra work to function.
Don't get me wrong this isn't a complaint I like the idea of the mod but starting a new game is dangerous Concord is overrun with raiders even a few in power armour so a tad harsh lol

so that there would be a little less chance for such meetings?
btw
Great mod
"paradise on earth"
I had a meeting with Supermutants, Cyngiel, gunners and children of Atom in one
using fast travel to police office (Paladin Danse etc)
