Thx. It's possible that what Nuka-World does to Preston isn't the same for everyone. I only know what it did to mine on my test play-throughs. So if it's doing something else to random people, then it's quite possible that you'd need a work-around, like you've found.
Thx for the guide. I followed the same procedure but also turned Preston an ally to all gang faction. I had to disable and enable Preston for him to stop attacking me. But once he is friendly, I can even capture settlement with him as an active companion.
omg you have no idea how much this helped me thank you so god damn much I've tried every console command to try to make Preston like me again then I found this mod then sooner after that this comment I was getting frustrated and mad that he was mad at me and there was nothing I could do but this worked this deserves a sticky locked comment tbh. plus this is also my first comment ever on this mod site and I feel it deserves to go to this one.
Requests: * Can you update this mod to cover Companions and Dogmeat too please? * Does this mean that if I add myself to the Vicious Dog faction, they will no longer aggro at me? (And this is why I need this mod to cover companions and Dogmeat too, so that normal critters don't keep aggroing at them. Reminds me of the "One with Nature" mod for Skyrim.)

I never post comments here but I just wanted to say thank you so much for this mod! I'm certain I accidentally killed some BOS soldiers when one of my companions shot at them a million saves ago.
I was replaying the Far Harbor DLC and decided to finally drop off the blood samples + technical documents. I dismissed all my followers but they kept on shooting at me lmao. I tried every console command but your mod really helped! It fixed everything so thank you so much!
I finished the game with the Minuteen+BOS+Railroad ending and the Institute being hostile/destroyed. After restoring the faction through another mod the Institute became friendly amd I'm trying to fix that using this mod. It does work perfectly fine when I change the faction status to hostile to the player BUT whenever I quit/reload the game I have to do it again for the change in faction-status does not seem to stay. Any idea on how to fix this?

Also support the companions from those two mods.
Minor bug fixes.
Activate Advanced Mode.
Select Player.
Select CIS_St to Comp_X6.
Select CompanionCrimeFaction_Preston.
Set your status to 0 (friends).
Then back out to the Faction Maintenance Main Menu.
Select Preston.
At the top of the list, there should now be an option that says "Make Companion Idolize You".
Select that and you should be good.
