This is a great addition to the Cross jetpack mod. However, for some reason every now and then I'll start receiving fall damage even with the v3 impact dampener enabled on the jetpack. For anyone else facing this problem, to fix this type "player.setav ba43d 0" into the console, this resets your fall damage intake percentage. So, now everything should work as intended. No jetpack = fall damage, jetpack = no fall damage. I hope this helps.
Yes, but what if someone doesn't *want* to wear the Freefall Leg Armor? The CROSS jetpack already comes with fall damage reduction mods - this is just an improved version of those mods. That way you don't die from falling AND you can wear whatever you like!
Holy crap, I can't believe the number of posts I've seen with users letting the mod author know that a similar mod already exists or a mod that does the same thing . I don't want to wear special boots, I use the cross mod so this is epic for me. Thx .

Can you please explain how to use this with an Xbox One Controller? No matter what I have done so far it doesn't work. What do you press on the controller? Normally it is the Y button so what's the deal with this?
Whenever you install this mod and add the Impact Dampener v3 to a CROSS Backpack at the Armor Workbench, you can fall from any height and not take damage upon landing. You don't need to do anything or press anything to get this effect to activate - as soon as you attach the Impact Dampener v3 to the CROSS Backpack, you're protected from all fall damage automatically!
The CROSS Jetpack works pretty much the same way as the vanilla FO4 jetpack in regards to vertical thrust. If you were using the Personal Jetpack mod and are now transitioning to this, it's going to take some time to adjust to. However, the Jetsprinter mode on the CROSS Jetpack GREATLY reduces sprinting AP costs, so it's not all bad.
There are a variety of "improved jetpack" mods out there on the Nexus that allow for reduced AP cost and higher flying, but I haven't tried any of them, so I can't recommend one to use yet.
Good to know that the JP jump heights are comparable. I'm trying to keep the illusion I am not totally cheating and getting into areas a "normal playthrough" would never let you go.
Given the fact that the Jetsprinter and Impact Dampener mods require a significant investment in both the Science and Armorer perks AND the jetpack never breaks the vanilla height ceiling even with these mods, I would consider the CROSS Jetpack to be "balanced" and "not cheating". That being said, having played the Tribes series, I can attest to how fun it is to be flying around all over the place, and I'm probably going to be installing a mod that increases the height ceiling, but not to a ridiculous degree.
EDIT: went back and played B:TPS recently and the jetpack isn't really a whole lot different from the FO4 one. TRIBES still = super jetpack, though.

I am still wondering if the CROSS jetpack lets you get to areas even the most powered-up PA jetpack will not let you get up to? Anyone know?
