It does seem silly that one stray bullet could make an automobile explode. Thank you for making it more realistic, and sharing with us. Endorsed, and kudos to you.
Thanks. Honestly, I should have made them completely indestructible. No explosions at all. It's trivial to remove the destruction state data from the static models.
Alas, I uninstalled Fallout 4 and all my mods for it to make space for games I want to play more, so I'm not bothering to reinstall it just for that. I might give it another go when the "next-gen" update hits. Given that Bethesda has claimed to make improvements to performance and high-fps gameplay, maybe they've optimized the game more, and inner Boston won't drag my ancient pc to its knees.
Go for it. Do whatever you want with the plugin, convert it entirely to a scripted thing (if such an option exists with modern tools), an ini edit, whatever. Upload your own version; no need to credit anything I've done here. It's just health values.
I don't have the motivation to do mod work right now, and I can't really enjoy playing Fallout 4 much anymore; there's just too much wrong in my opinion with the general experience for me to like it as anything more than a platform for mods, things like Zorkaz's world expansions and unique locations.
I tried, tried and am still pushing Fallout 4 after a many years hiatus. The ide was to mod the game into something like an actual good RPG. And this quote sir "there's just too much wrong in my opinion with the general experience for me to like it as anything more than a platform for mods" sums up the game perfectly. It's just a janky platform for mods.... so much lazyness I find in this game, 1200 mods... the soul is gone from this mess.
Makes sense with war of the commonwealth. You come out of the vault, everyone's fighting and JUST NOW all the vehicles decide to explode? Is it because you woke up from your nap and the world stops when you're asleep? No. It's because the vehicles need more health.
Neither. You're still in the vault, bodily frozen, plugged into one of the interactive tapes (experiment 572 to be precise), which are designed to keep occupants safe for long periods and not freak out by cleverly fooling them to think they're conscious and outside...
I'm joking! Actually they removed your noggin long ago - you're now just a robobrain and FO4 is the game you're played to keep the grey matter ticking over while you function as a simple sewer sweep. That's why the plot's stupid - they can't risk making you think, it's just barely enough to stop the grey matter atrophying. But just go with it - after all, waking up won't help you much now! Enjoy...
nice job, brings much more immersion, bethesda already should have made those vehicles have more health in the vanilla game, so this is really a little must have mod
Just wondering... did you look into the Creation Kit?
I only recently looked into a howto video for the CK, and noted some of the "methods" it seems to apply: I would imagine that presets for certain objects exist in the game, e.g. a set of values (damage, how much interaction they allow etc.) for cars and trucks (and possibly also buses). If such presets exist, changing the preset "global template" for cars and trucks should be exactly two numbers, and all "car meshes" and "truck meshes" out there should automatically inherit those values. I mention this since the way you explained it seems to suggest you had to go in and manually change every car type and truck type manually.
I am just curious, but maybe the idea can help you, should you want to tweak your settings some more or expand the tweaking.
Note sure this is possible... but buses that blow up and possibly other vehicles I have forgotten might be neat.
If that IS possible, it would be great. I know that Skyrim had weapon templates that used the base stats but not enchantments; that's how all the various leveled, enchanted versions of weapons appeared. Flame damage level 1-5, holy damage 1-5, etc.

I'll look into it.
I can't help you with that.
