Thank you so much for this. I just finished with the Railroad and went to see what Danse was up to and had the bug. I used the console commands you listed in the description and that solved the problem and he is my companion again.
This works on any companions lost to quest decisions btw, so if you annihilated the Railroad you can use "resurrect" on Deacon and use these commands on him (make sure to use his refID instead of Danse's), though you may need to remove him from the railroad faction as well.
This worked for me after siding with the Railroad and I'm so happy!!! Was getting pretty tired of Danse continuing to live in my nice settlement, but totally ghosting me
This mod have problem with Companion infinity ammo and unbreakable power armor mod.. Danses armor is still getting to broke, all other companions armors are fine (are unbreakable), pleas fix it.

I also dont understand his for Brotherhood bla, bla comments etc.. in time when BoS is destroyed, it would be nice just use other voice overs..
Seems to work perfectly. (Used after endgame, as specified. Railroad in my case.) This "choice" (unable to follow) does seem like a bug. Or else X6-88 is bugged (no problems following after faction destroyed). If they had Danse respond with anything ("I won't follow you, meanie!") then I would consider this a choice. But he is indeed catatonic.
I encountered the same problem of Danse not gaining affinity, so I looked through the scripts and found a bool variable called "HasLeftPlayerPermanently", which is set to true as soon as the player is kicked out of the brotherhood. This variable keeps a companion from changing affinity.
In order to fix this, open the console, select paladin Danse and type

I really really really appreciate how detailed and concise the description is. Seldom do people make concise and explicit mod descriptions. I mean I really appreciate the community but damn I would really be helpful to have an explicit description of what I am downloading. Sometimes I download mods and I am not sure what will happen. This was straight to the point with backup information and it worked well so far. I am surprised this mod is seldom used, I guess not many PC players care about completing the game or using Danse afterwards. Or maybe they're so used to unpredictable inconveniences they just become complacent.Thank you.
PS: I haven't verified if this allowed the games interference with his affinity.
