I gotta say this makes NO sense lore-wise. Instead of getting in the vault, why not just get in the bunker?

Makes perfect sense, if you consider he likely built this long before Vault 111 was even planned or became operational.
So when the time comes, do you go to your "hobo shelter" or go to a fully functional survival vault located a stones throw behind Sanctuary - of which you've been informed you are on the list for?

In fact, things happened so fast he didn't have time to go to his "hobo shelter" and grab his go-bag.   Wouldn't think Nora would be too keen to Nate having a firearm arsenal inside the home with an infant, nor Codsworth for that matter - to the shelter your toys go.

Would it be possible to get a version of this compatible with scrapping mods? So we can still remove the old player house and next door neighbour's house while using this?

Anyone still alive? This thing is taking over the map workshop stats over Sanctuary. It's also good. too. Hmm...

really love this mod! At first I didn't think it was working, because I'd run around the house and not see anything there. Then I realized I'd landscaped the joint and the hatch was underneath a layer of grass.

I have 1 issue, 1 request and a couple of suggestions.

First the issue. The radio doesn't seem to work. That's pretty much it.

The request. Is it possible to replace the short hunting rifle with a basic, short barreled combat rifle, stock in every way except for the .308 receiver ? I realize it might be kind of overpowered early game, but if we're positing that this is a stash from the PC's army days, he'd probably have a basic military pistol (the 10mm) and a basic combat rifle. IIRC, you'd still be locked into standard everything else until you get your gunnut ranks up.

Suggestions. Lose one of the bunks and replace it with a crib. This was going to be the family's shelter, right? Husband, wife, and little Shaun? In fact, one of the pre-war double beds and a crib. Add some woman's clothing and some baby items. If it's possible, titles for the books *just to be fussy)

The toilet could be separated out with a single half wall and shower curtain.

All in all, this is tempting me to start a new run to see what a moderately prepared character might be able to manage.

If I move the crates with water etc I might be able to do something about a Shower curtain/toilet Idea. I'll replace the Hunting rifle with a combat rifle for You, I'm not entirely sure how to make sure it's the simplest version yet (seems like it randomizes). I'll look into that.

My reasoning behind 2 bunks was that he wouldn't necessarily have known When bombs were going to hit (and may have had a larger family by then), It's easy to place a crib instead, I'll do that too.
Which Radio station would you like? - There's a radio for each station afaik.

Thanks! As for radios? Hmmm. I don't suppose it matters, really. I'd think Diamond City Radio would be the closest signal from the start of game. There are a couple of mods that allow radios to tune into all stations, so anybody who wants a different one can always have it.

Guess I'm creating a new character for a fresh playthrough, which means I'll get to do a much better job on Sanctuary than I did at the end of November.

I was showing a friend my bunker last night and something hit me that you might like to add, and which would also add to the immersion. Specifically, why would the sole survivor even GO to Vault 111 if he's got a perfectly good bunker underneath the house?

How about a "To do" list on the table listing the things still needed before the bunker was ready? This might explain why, for instance, there is no shower, or why there's only a little bit (relatively speaking) of food or building supplies. Add a couple of bags of cement and some basic tools, shovel, bucket, and the like to show that it was an ongoing project.

An almost but not quite finished bunker would both explain why the sole survivor is initially reluctant to sign up with the vault, and why he/she does relent and go there in the end.

It could also be debated that despite building an ok bunker, Vault Tec's were far superior to anything the average home owner could hope to achieve, if he'd stayed in the bunker there'd be no game, as he'd have died some years after (and perhaps his family too, cleaning up radioactive fallout, trying to survive, running out of supplies, Accidentally running into Raiders.) The chances of his family surviving to continue breeding without being turned into ghouls/fertilizer are very, very low.

I did actually have building supplies for this very reason inside the old version of the Bunker, I was planning on putting them back in for the reason you described (immersion + reason to not have used the bunker) but felt it might be a bit too Overpowered. I've been working on using game assets to create a small shower. Perhaps it would be easier to go this route afterall.

Speaking as somebody who built his own house over the course of several years, I can say that you wouldn't really need to add sufficient building materials to make it overpowered. If I ever had more than 2 or 3 bags of cement (for instance) on hand for a project at a given time, it was an anomaly. Particularly down in a bunker/cellar. Couple bags of cement, a bucket and shovel. Some piping (which would probably not happen in game because of the lack of assets) and half a dozen boards. Basically what would amount to scrapping an extra small tree and pile of cinder blocks. 3 or 4 steel worth of tools, and done.

There is a shower that would work. It's in the Homemaker mod, but I couldn't really say that I've seen it in game yet. Just a pipe sticking up with valves and a shower head, really. Not even a stall. You'd have the issue of where it drains if anybody noticed anything so trivial in a game where an entire car nets the same salvage as 4 or 5 wrenches. Of course, the bunker, for the purposes of gameplay doesn't really need the shower, as an unfinished bunker will be just as effective in sheltering from rad storms as a fully functional one. I mean, look at the deplorable state of your neighbor's bunker up the street. Imagine how long you could live with crapping in a bucket before you went out into the rads just for a breath of fresh air!

I've updated the mod with walls to make a very tiny, cramped shower area, I think it fits nicely. I added a Crib and removed one of the Bunks. I'd be pushing for space with a double bed instead of Bunks but I'll see how it looks, I could probably replace the table with a smaller one. I forgot to add any building materials and it's getting pretty cramped, I'm happy to revise a few bits and pieces.

Popped in last night. Excellent. Still has the hunting rifle in the chest, but the rest is just the way I'd expect an underground shelter to look.

Makes me wish that somebody would make non-radiated pre-war foods. On the other hand, when you go down there and realize your clothes are dirty and your food irradiated, you realize that maybe it wasn't such a bad idea to go to the Vault Tek shelter (having the wife murdered and baby kidnapped notwithstanding)

There's another mod author who's mad a thing called "Nate's Footlocker." I mention this because you were talking about not being able to non-randomize the chest contents, and he's got specific things in his (or so he says). Might be able to pick his brain to see can you get specific items in the crates rather than randomized versions of them.

Anyway, great mod, heartily endorsed and recommended to friends.

Hey, I removed the old home completely and built a new and better home using the concrete building sections that come with the workshop DLC. I downloaded your mod and your doorway to the bunker is about 50% covered (and a foot or two low) by the new foundation. I would prefer the doorway to be inside the home. I took screenshots but I am not sure how to add photos within comments section here.

Another issue that I discovered was that it re-installed the old home within my new home? I am not sure why that would happen as I would assume that your mod just add the hatch to the bunker? Anyway, I disabled the mod for now.

    Thank you.

Moving the trapdoor for you would be difficult, I'd have to know exactly where your floor is and place the trapdoor in midair in that location so that it appears to be in the right place.
I've had 3 messages now about things in Sanctuary resetting when my Mod is activated. Are you using Spring Cleaning?

Yes, I am using Spring Clean Up. I was running another mod today and the same thing happened with old buildings (and debris) that were deleted previously re spawned inside my new buildings. I did a little reading on the posts and then downloaded (and placed it in the last order to load) the Spring Cleanup Compatibility Patch (by Vlits) and it seems to have fixed the problem with the other mod. I have not tried it with your mod yet but will and then I will report back to you.

Actually, all you need to do is to move the hatch over to (south about half of a 'building square' and up just a bit) and I can do the rest with the console. I can place a mat from the workshop where I want the hatch and then move the hatch with the console <id>(hatch) .move to <id> (mat). Then when I exit the bunker I will come out inside my new house. I played around with the hatch for the other underground shelter (the vanilla one a few house down) and I can move that hatch to anywhere but I will always exit the shelter where its original location was.

of not I can just move the hatch a few feet so it is not covered half way by my house; I will just spawn outside the house.

***Update: The Spring Cleaning Compatibility Patch works; it removed the old Sanctuary Buildings from re spawning in my new ones. Just make sure it is the last mod to load in the list.***

***However, I just discovered that it causes all of your containers in your settlements to respawn items so I would avoid using this if you don't want new items popping up in all of your containers***

I haven't got a proper Latrine/Shower model yet - I can just drop a toilet in if you like. I was hoping for something a little cooler looking.

Use the toilet from the 'new bed and toilet mod'-Ceano Use the shower model from your Sanctuary home. Anyway, I like your bunker but can you move the entrance using the consul command <id>.moveto <id> ?

I will be tearing down my home and will be building a new one soon so I most likely will have to move the hatch for the bunker if I were to use your mod.

Once You've finished with your changes send me a screenshot of where you'd like the new location of the entrance, I'll move it for you and send you a Dropbox link with a Customized .esp

oh, I was joking around, refering to a shoddycast video (and a problem in vanilla FO4 I think Bethesda doesn't know what toilets are)

Thank you. I will be tearing down the old pre-war home and will be replacing it with a concrete one using the concrete building blocks found within the workbench. I have replaced almost every building within Sanctuary and I am down to replacing the last two. The new hatch will be fairly close to your location. Thanks again leeshaw85.

I like immersive mods and this one to me fits that bill. This is what someone would likely build in the world Fallout is set in. It is not over the top or over powered. The items in the bunker make sense and give the player a nice and realistic boost early game.

If you doing a new character Survival mode run, this to me is a great mod that will add positively to the experience.
