the bug about the exploding knife really strikes me as more of a cool unintended feature if I'm being honest. like whats cooler then a throwing knife?...a throwing knife that explodes :D
I was thinking about making Red Death, but I had zero knowledge about 3DS Max prior to making this model, so if I do, it won't be for awhile until I upload it as it is far more complex than a simple knife.
I have some good news, You might not need to model it yourself anymore. A bunch of destiny weapon and armor models are dropping on the nexus. apparently Bungie is being supper chill now they are no longer signed up with activision and are letting people use assets for mods so long as they follow specific guidelines. I've downloaded some so far and they seem to simply amount to model replacers. If you where able to actually make them function the way they do in destiny, I think that would be beyond cool. Personally, I would love to see a version of Red-Death in Fallout-4 that can actually heal the player. I would download that in an instant an main it for my whole pay-through.
I think that it takes a little too long to fly through the air, and it doesn't follow the projectile arc that you get with Demolitions Expert. I play a Stealth build that relies on being quick and accurate, and I can't really do either with this mod, so I'll be using someone else's. Thanks for uploading it anyways!
I love the design but even after the changes in the damage values, it is still too OP for me. WIth a stealth blade attachment, the damage is almost 400. Add to that its being very fast (very few AP per hit) I can take down a Mirelurk Queen in seconds. If you still want it to be powerful, I would suggest adjusting the values to about 2/3 of what it currently is. It would still be the best knife in the game but I wouldn't feel like a total cheater by using it.
Like I said though great design... and I love the throwing knives!
Wow, I guess that shows how much I have tested it. I have only been testing on my Survival playthrough with no Perks associated with melee. i will upload an optional file with the changed values to balance it out more.
I do have all the big league perks but I didn't realise the damage number displayed actually changed as you level up the skill.I thought it was behind the scenes... I guess I wasn't really paying attention. I just compared it to Pickman's Blade which does just over 200 with the stealth blade and is only fast and not very fast. And even that was enough for me to one-shot most things at level 48 and one-shot anything from stealth with Ninja 3 + Cloak and Dagger. I don't know what the most powerful enemy is but I came across a super mega deathclaw alpha or something and took him down with one stab of a kitchen knife. I took down Maxson the same way in his MK-VII armour.
So the stats look better (just over 300 with stealth blade compared to 158 for a combat knife with stealth blade) but it still says "very fast". If the AP cost in increased despite what it says it doesn't matter. Also I can't seem to craft the knife at the chem workbench any more. I had to add it by console.
Don't change anything else for my benefit though. I've finished with my melée character for now but I thought I should let you know
EDIT: Scratch what I said above about not being able to craft it. It's in the grenades section and for some reason I thought it had it's own section. Sorry
I featured this mod in a YouTube video if you would like to include it in your description page if not that's cool too! Just thought I'd let you know. Here's the link: https://youtu.be/ZnlrOI0i38M
