download a mod manager like Vortex (what i use) Or Mod manager which is one of the most popular downloads on the site. I started doing this for the first time a few days ago and thats what everyone uses to organize mods
Vortex as a mod manager is wonderful for beginners in modding, i'm not a beginner, but i still love using it over mod organizer which is a pain to understand, like it's technically a better program, but it's difficult to deal with and understand and if you want to not waste days and days of your time just use Vortex, it just makes most of the headache issues of modding go away, because it just does all the more complicated s#*! for you.
Any way you could make a mod that autosaves (for example every 5 min) so that when a game crashes on survival it will load a backup that you made 5 min ago instead of loosing hours.
But without making the autosave accesible if the game didn't crash (for example via marking the save as invalid)
Is there a chance to add option to the mod to be in line with game mechanics - ie each sleep remove Adrenaline Damage Bonus. The same should be applied here, each save (which replaces sleep) should optionally remove Adrenaline Bonus.
