Ran the regular version with entire Fallevil suite, and Zombie Walkers spawning craptons of zombies.
When I got to downtown Boston my framerate dropped to 30fps and all the zombies stopped moving. I think I hit the actor limit lol and the AI couldn't keep up. Downgraded to lite version and they started moving again. Had maybe a hundred zombies on screen, now down to around 30, damn crying shame but at least I'm not shooting mannequins in a slideshow.
Will do again once I get an i9 CPU and 64GB of RAM lol.
add this mod to a collection and send it to your friends, trust me they'll freak tf out once they have an army of ghouls chasing them and rendering progressing the story impossible. Best time i've had in a discord call
Pretty awesome, but it ended up being too many, especially with the glowing ones that kept resurrecting them. Endorsing because it definitely makes things interesting, but needed to uninstall as it was somewhat disruptive to some quests.
so i wanted to see how well my pc would do and my god my pc ran like a champ at 80-90 fps and this is extreme version i was like omg all out war the only complaint i have is my companion just stood there and did nothing but other then that made the game more fun! i started saving ammo cuz i new what i was signing up for even tho i prepared i still ran out of bullets and i didnt know the zombies could revive other zombies so i was like oh fuk! i emptied 3 guns almost all my grenades i had to switch over to my combat knife and regular sword and even so i still died over all 10/10 granted to could of used the mini nukes but i didnt want to accidently blow my self up xD
In regards to the AI failing to a standstill and low fps, I found a mod that is the solution to both. It's called More Active AI. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/38662?tab=files&file_id=157736&nmm=1 Running the extreme version without this mod I got 30 fps in downtown Boston, with it I consistently get over 60 fps.
So tried this out and no only did it fix the standstill problem but it fixed my robots just standing still not doing anything until they actually got hit or I got smacked first. PACE, and all the other companion AI mods said there was nothing that could be done about it, that it was a game engine problem but More Active AI fixed it for me. I set it at 80 and the world is more active as well.
i AGREE, love the mod, had lots of fun with it till they started spawning in the already poorly optimized downtown, then I saw 20fps on my 3090TI and that was the end of this mod. This engine cannot cope with the "Days Gone" level of crowds, sadly.
Two 2080Ti with a custom SLI profile through Nvidia Profile Inspector. 98% usage on both. I get around 30-40 FPS with this mod (and of course 600+ other mods). So I guess a 4090 would be fine? : - )
I don't get any CTDs or any other issues (like path finding) that people have mentioned, but I also don't play with companions. I'm all solo.
You could have a future 9999999 TI in a quad SLI and it would make no difference, the spawning and AI is handled 100% by the poorly optimized CPU in Fallout 4, the first 2 cores handle all of it while the other cores even if you have a million of them are doing nothing. I have since upgraded to intel 13900 and RTX 4090 in hopes of running this game without CONSTANT FPS DROPS, and guess what/ made no difference!
Intill Bethesda releases the next gen patch in dx12, this game will keep running like shlt no matter what hardware you got.
The game is unoptimized to begin with. Y'all actually crazy thinking better hardware will somehow push a broken engine harder to perform better. It wont. A used car from 20 years ago, continually adding miles, with some minor fixes on top of substantial issues, does not make the car competent or optimal. Boston f*#@ing sucks, and adding 700 ghouls to those cells is not smart or advised.
