Your F4SE version MUST be functioning for the game version you're running on.
This Mod does not work in 2024 - Starting a new game will give you a warning about achievements, instead download achievements mods enabler it works you can confirm it by starting a new game and see no warning message! https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/15639
Just a head's up for everyone waiting for this mod to get patched for the current version of Fallout 4 ("Next Gen") and F4SE: try this mod - Achievements Mods Enabler.
The "Achievements Mods Enabler" mod is still supported, and technically has two methods of use. The first works with F4SE and the creator seems to be working on an update for the latest stable version of F4SE at the time of writing (May 03, 2024). The second method works without F4SE; you must download a DLL loader zip file and place the contents of the zip in your Fallout 4 main directory, then download the mod enabler main file. The DLL loader zip is found as an optional file on the downloads page. This second method should currently work, but again, the mod creator may have the F4SE version available soon.
Since the last upload for the "Achievements" mod was back in 2017, using the "Achievements Mods Enabler" mod may be the best bet if you still want to get achievements on a modded save.
EDIT: Make sure you download both the main file (either manually or through the Vortex mod manager) and the optional DLL file if you want to use the non-F4SE method. Extract the contents of the DLL zip file to your Fallout 4 main directory. After that, make sure "Achievements Mods Enabler" is enabled in Vortex. When you're done, you can check if the mod is working by launching Fallout 4, starting a new game, and seeing if you get a message about achievements being disabled. If you don't get the message, the mod is working.
Right now, Achievement Mods Enabler doesn't work with the current version of F4SE. You must still download a separate DLL loader to get it to work, but it's likely both that mod and this will get updated to support F4SE 0.7.1 and up.
Yep, I can confirm that Achievements Mods Enabler is still not working with the newest release of F4SE (v0.7.1)...BUT... it does indeed work if you use its Optional Files 'DLL Loader' method.
Also, I am currently using the newest 'F4SE v0.7.1' AND 'AME+DLL Loader Method' both at the same time, and I have not experienced any errors/problems as of yet.
'Achievements Mods Enabler' is a good alternative until this mod gets updated.
*wholesomely waits heckin' patiently for this mod to get Next-Gen updated ♥ ♥ ♥* :)
There isn't a mod manager download option for the DLL files. You have to manually download the file, which is just a zip file, and then extract the contents (a "Data" folder and DLL file labeled "winmm.dll") to your Fallout 4 main directory. The process is pretty easy and quick.
To uninstall it, what I plan on doing (when the F4SE option is available) is to just delete the files the DLL zip adds. I already mentioned the "winmm.dll" file that gets placed in your main F4 directory. For the "Data" folder...the DLL zip adds the folders "Plugins" and inside of that, a folder called "Sumwunn". In the Sumwunn folder you have the file "DllLoader.ini". So when you are ready to uninstall, just delete the "winmm.dll" file in your main Fallout 4 directory, and the "DllLoader.ini" file under "Data->Plugins->Sumwunn".
EDIT: If anyone reading this comment thread still has issues getting Achievements Mods Enabler to work, make sure you download the main file AND the optional DLL file. You have to use both files for the non-F4SE version to work. Download the main file either manually or through Vortex, and then download the optional DLL zip and place the contents of that zip in your Fallout 4 main directory.
It may be my fault for any confusion; I may not have made that part clear enough in my first post. But for right now (May 04, 2024) you need both files in that download page for the mod to work correctly.
You'll know Achievements Mods Enabler is working correctly if you choose New Game at the main menu and you don't receive any message about achievements being disabled.

You should still be able to use the Achievements Mods Enabler mod by using the DLL loader method, specifically because it doesn't require F4SE.
