So I just got this mod and I've run into an issue soon as I went to build there.
The workshop area seems to be not where it should be, as soon as I leave the shack where the workbench is the 'leaving workshop' message pops up and exits me from the build menus.
Same here only it let me build and entire superduper two story building full of furniture and appliances before it started doing it. Two hours of work wasted and had to revert back to a save from before this mod was installed... even after uninstalling it... to be able to operate normally at that site again.
Fallout just updated, and it seems some things popped back (like the big screen and surrounding stuff!) Nvm, I put it last in loading order, it seems the projector building is gone now (which was there earlier, when the big screen was not ) I am confused in all the ways but it's okay now
It was bugged for me as minutemen patrollign were standing instead of patrol. Uninstalled and voila, fixed. Probably messing with War of the Commonwealth.
Thankyou for this! I plan on building a huge settlement here when I build my new PC later this year and this is EXACTLY what I was hoping someone would do. Thankyou
So I have encountered a bug involving the settlers. They seem to be stuck in the center of the lot and are unable to travel from the inner portion to near the outer portion where the cement texture meets the grass. So for instance, settlers assigned to any jobs outside that border will be unable to go to the station and will just stand around. Companions will also be stuck either in or outside the barrier. I have no idea if this is due to some navmeshing problems or is some kind of error on my end. However, it still happens when it's a completely empty lot. So I have a strong feeling that its the mod.
Honestly, I don't quite understand the purpose of this mod. With everything gone, no possibility of scrapping what was at hand or adding a water purifier. Can't make out from the pics if the drive-in's giant screen and adjacent buildings were also eliminated. If so, there's a few interesting bits of loot that are gone, too...
Not trying to bash your work -there's bound to be gamers who will have a go at this.
Me, I like loads of clutter and junk on a terrain; gives more stuff to scrap which is mucho needed at the start of a game. In my very first play-through, Starlight Drive-In was the first settlement I discovered (and still is a place I try to go to as quickly as possible because not difficult to 'conquer' ) which means that at this early stage, I'm not advanced enough to connect the settlement via provisioners, so, the scrapped material comes in handy...
The leveling of the terrain, on the other hand, is a good thing.
Again, it's not my intention to crunch your mod, nor your aspirations, for that matter. Just my personal take on things. I guess it all comes down on how someone wants to play the game...
I tend to agree... another version of the mod that actually leaves everything you *can* scrap in there, but removing all the stuff that cannot normally be scrapped/removed or moved. Like most of the cars IIRC.
Plus I rather *like the diner*, I would keep it... and would have only cleaned up the insides somewhat.
Presently it looks like a rather soulless vacant lot.
(The above are just suggestions that may appeal to others as well... maybe.)
Side note: It will be interesting to see how easy it is for someone with mapping experience to do such clean ups themselves using the CK. I have no idea how much work it is to "repackage" everything to get the game to use such changes, though. If not too difficult, I'd rather like to mess with all sorts of annoyances regarding certain locked items in settlements.
1 - Go there and do the usual kill/loot/scrap (or /scrapall if you're like me and like nice, clean areas) 2 - Install mod 3 - Create a massive settlement! (could use Sanctuary for that but I hate the place. I dumped /scrapall on it and turned it into just a forest with a cabin for those 3 idiots to live in).
Personally, I don't like to keep all the old, rotten stuff about and I disable it (the LOD in some places... but it's something I live with for the sake of cleaning up. I sometimes feel tempted to fire up FO4edit and burn all those LOD entries with fire) so having those useless screen/diner disappear is a good thing.
For me, creating the settlements is about cleaning up and rebuilding the "world", not "live in a shack in the middle of trash".
I don't understand this one either, with Spring Cleaning you can do the same thing and get the materials from scrapping for building. Just a thought. But to each his or her own thing.
Sure Ethreon, but that is again starting from the view-point one wants to get rid of what Spring Cleaning can't scrap. I use the latter in combo with Eysenbeiss' "Starlight Drive-In - Adjusted And a Little Bit Expanded" which makes it possible to get rid of that chain-link fence and main entrance gate which in Vanilla is just a meter/3.5 feet outside the buildable area.
I also find the projection screen a good defence, against which I usually build my lodgings and pub/restaurant area

Nice to have added that pond. Might as well have left that bomb crater though. With Spring Cleaning you can scrap the nuclear waste barrels anyway.
As I said before, for every mod there's takers and non-takers. Your mod surely has its place and is well-done for those interested
I removed that pond because it was a issue, I wanted to give people somewhere to build on flat ground that's all this mod was for it's all it was ever for, not for the lore-friendly or what ever. Just people that wanted to build on flatland without junk getting in the way so they can just get on with it because there was no flat land anywhere and some people even started building under the ocean where there is some flatland.
I did not expected for people to take this mod so seriously, sure I put a few hours or so work into it learning how to edit terrain again and learning how to use navmesh, although I may need to fix that because I did it a strange way and it may cause issues with certain things... that's really all it was. I can see the problems with this mod from your point of view though.
Personally I will never use this mod because I don't play Fallout 4. I just don't find it the same game as the others. I find it boring. I am just simple mod author trying to help out people.
sorry for the issues that the posting of this mod caused. I did not expect this reaction from the community.
I thought it would be a simple "Cool. removes all that crap so I can get on with building without worrying about settlement having clipping issues". I guess not.
Nah, don't take my comments so serious. In fact, deny them completely, as what I said is only right for me, no-one else. What you did is quite alright and there's a lot of people out there who will agree with what you did.
Some comments can get out of hand and in fact don't contribute at all to what's been done. My comments belong to that latter segment and were more of a written down inner reflection...
Deny these shenanigans and just do what you want to do
Good thought, though starlight drive in was pretty flat to start with and we don't really need it. I do really hope you can make one for coastal cottage. Could you make one for it too? THX
That would be nice, would also be nice if there was a bridge that connects to it so settlers actually have a way to get there instead of just swimming across irradiated water to get there
