I remember 600+ hours of gameplay ago when I first stepped on a sandbag in power armor at concord, holy f*#@ that scared the hell out of me. Thank you for making this.
Thanks for tweaking the sound, although I always enjoyed the subtle jolt ensured when sandbags are gently brushed, particularly when it is done by the tactician that accompanies you in power armour, who decides to disregard command structure and take initiative. It is also nice to return to a settlement that you have provided sandbags for, only to see they have been destroyed, and not due to their substantial effectiveness in defence, but due to a lummox of an automaton that lacks rudimentary motion sensors who only manages to travel if it can go in straight lines.
I added a video link on the main description page to one of Gopher's videos which demonstrates the vanilla sound and visual effects ... and the confusion.
Thanks for this! I too was startled by the explosion, even now I have to look around just in case it wasn't the sand. This will make it better. Nice touch adding the example sound files. Thanks again!
You're welcome. I was startled and confused the first time that I heard it too. Most, if not all, the YouTube Lets Players that I have been watching have had the same reaction.
The first time I encountered this, my companion and I were in PA. I honestly thought the nearby Gunners were shelling us. In short order, I noticed my companion destroy a sandbag (walking over it). I felt dumb.
