i just started a new playthrough and realized in the beginning of the game there were no air raid sirens heard during the beginning seen like you would think, if they weren't making noise nearby, than perhaps in the distance just before your character says the words we need to get to the bunker there should have been an air raid siren blaring off either where all the houses were or somewhere in the distance but could still be heard.
like they had the acting and the news report that showed some urgency and the music sort of sold it, but it was missing the air raid sirens that made this sound that scared people into a sense of urgency, i mean i had my parents speak about just how scary hearing these things came off when they heard them during their history and the possibility's of war dramatically changing the mood of the people.
although there are better slightly longer versions of these sirens that could be used in a mod like this to really create that effect of multiple air raid sirens going off at the same time, like one of my favorite audios of hearing these things is this.
it was the peak of the sound going off and lasting forever that gave chills down your spine when you heard it and multiple of them going off all at once, almost over lapping each other siren created such terror in the population that it exists in horror stories till this day. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5FwsIkJCXU
Thank you for this!! Yeah it is THE iconic "air raid siren"
during 1980s here in Scotland, someone screwed up and they accidentally set off the sirens...so I and many other assumed the nukes were inbound, talk about "massive area effect audio induced diarrhea" ! :p sound still scares piss out of me, eek
This sounds way cooler than the default siren. I'd even argue that it's lore-friendly since the bombs fell *after* WWII.
Why did someone in Boston have a British Air Raid Siren? Well, there's a collector for everything Thanks to this collector of obscure items I now have a cool and creepy siren for Gray Garden.
I like it, but I replaces the official siren sound, right? Is it possible to add a new siren workshop item that has this sound effect but doesn't replace sirens?
i know but if i had the wind up at the beginning of the clip on the first play that is ok but on th second or third play it just sounds kindady out of place to me like its only just been turned on itwas a difficult clip to edit
I love that you did this. Ah, but I grew up with gen-u-ine US Civil Defense sirens. They did tests or something every 11th Tuesday (or something), so for me, that's the official soundtrack (tm) of the cold war.
