The minimum is Knight. I played the Minutemen ending while being a BOS Knight, and can confirm it worked as it should. The prerequisites are having access to the Prydwen and not being enemies with the BOS. This also means you get to keep Danse in the Brotherhood, since the BOS never finds out his secret.
To make these not show up prior to blowing up the Institute set Initially Disabled and add Parent:
CITPreBoomMarker [REFR:00187965] (places EnableMarker [STAT:000E4610] in GRUP Cell Persistent Children of [CELL:00018AA2] (in Commonwealth "Commonwealth" [WRLD:0000003C]) at -5,-1)
I don't use this mod, but I'll look at it tomorrow. It can be done even simpler as there's a PostBoomMarker that I used in my Minutemen BoS Sentinel mod that I wasn't aware of prior. I'll walk you through it once I'm back on my gaming PC, it's pretty easy.
Open XEdit, select EpilogueRestored.esp. Once opened, expand that plugin. You will see Worldspace. Expand that all the way out. You will see Placed Reference "Minuteman General Intel". Select that and in the right-hand pane scroll down until you see XESP Enable Parent. To the blank space to the right of that, right click it and select Add. A Null Reference will come up. Right click the Null Reference and replace it with:
CITPostBoomMarker [REFR:00187964]
Save on exit and you are finished. Note: Unfortunately, and nothing to do with the change I listed above, placement of this note puts it within the bounds of the marker that BoS305 "A New Dawn" [QUST:00182EAE] uses so player will need to either go in and out of the door to the Prydwen or go to the Airport and back to the Prydwen most of the time to get the quest to activate. To fix this, you can move this note to somewhere in the Airport. You can also add VMAD->Scripts->Add DefaultDisableHavokOnLoad so it doesn't get knocked around accidentally and clip through something.
Very late to respond. Just found this mod on youtube. You probably can. You probably did minutemen quests up to Old Guns. If so, complete every BoS quest up to Blind Betrayal, but dont go to the listening post. Complete the institute quests up to mass fusion, then inform the brotherhood, you will skip blind betrayal and tactical thinking, then go straight to spoils of war. Now, you can either Complete Institute quests up to Mass Fusion, or if youre lazy and youre on PC, plus didnt make the Institute your enemy, bring up your console and type "setstage 0015BD39 10" (without the quotation marks). An youre done! Complete Blind betrayal with the mod, then complete Defend the Castle and Nuclear Option with the minutemen. Like this, 3 factions at peace, You/Danse as elder of the brotherhood, and youre the general of the minutemen.
This mod worked flawlessly for my existing save. I was promoted to Sentinel, and am fully recognized of that within the Brotherhood. I will note that at the time of installing the mod I had not yet destroyed the Institute, I'm only saying this because at some point during the Minutemen quest the Castle is attacked by the Institute. And when you get promoted to Sentinel it queues that attack again. So if you have this mod installed, the Castle get's attack twice. I didn't mind it though, it was quite fun. All in all props to the guy that made this possible.
It worked perfectly on my save which was post-Institute explodey. I haven't had any issues with character creation though. You can turn it off after using it and re-enable it after the ending.
