For those wondering if they should install this or not, you probably shouldn't. The elevator lacks basic functions that even the vanilla elevator possesses.
It's not double-sided, so you can only enter it from one side. I can tolerate that, but what I can't tolerate is the fact that it doesn't seem to work properly. I built a 3-story elevator, went inside, and found no buttons or interface that would allow one to choose a floor. Activate the elevator anywhere seems to have it swap between the bottom two floors, but I've found no functionality for the other multi-story elevators. Maybe I'm missing something, but I'm pretty sure elevators are supposed to be user-intuitive.
Not to mention it's light blue color, which matches almost nothing in the game, and the fact that it's categorized under Metal - Prefabs instead of the Elevators tab means that this one is staying off of my mod list, and it should probably stay off of yours too.
What I need is an elevator that matches the floors of a concrete structure, it matches the floors but the top of the elevator exceeds the limit of the top floor, so if you're using multiple elevators, or if you want to have a nice flush ceiling on the top floor, you're still SOL.
got it to work now, any chance getting them to stop on multiple floors like the vanilla elevators? they look great but it takes up too much space to have one of them for each floor
Looks like excellent work! I know you have a DLC version of the Craftable Vault elevators for Vault 88 set, which has the higher wall height. I wonder if this caged version is also available in the higher wall height. I didn't see a link for one. Your caged versions look like they would work really well with the Far Harbor Barn set or the Contraptions warehouse.
Much, much better then those horrendous "Contraptions" DLC elevators. My number 1 disappointment with those was that, for me anyway, it was impossible to get them "align" with "normal" flooring. They were always way too high. Extremely frustrating. Apparently, they were meant to only align with the "warehouse" floor and wall heights, but I rarely use those. I'm not gonna use those horrible looking walls when I'm trying to make some nice building. I just want a "normal" building with a normal elevator. The ones in this mod do exactly that. Definitely worthy of an endorsement. +1
The Contraptions elevators will also work with the Far Harbor barn set and the Vault 88 set. I use those quite a bit but I am delighted to hear that ccmad's craftable cage elevators work for the original build height.
A small request, would it be possible to add sounds to your elevator mods whenever they are moving? Those silent ones kinda rub me the wrong way, you know. Other than that, cool stuff.
