Sometimes when i try and talk to a companion upclose, it forces the talk option automatically, even if you didn't want that. I want to trade with them or tell them to stay/Follow.
The only work around is to interact with them at a distance but that cannot be done indoors sometimes because you get huddled too close.
Example, what it should do: Look alive (shows dialogue wheel for talk trade stay/follow cancel)
What it does sometimes: Hey [companion name], (Thoughts, dismiss, relationship, nothing)
I don't get why it is doing this It makes it insanely frustrating when i am trying to trade or get them to stay/follow but apparently the game doesnt want me to and force me to talk instead especially in dire situiations like if i am about to be bum rushed by super mutants.
Sorry for this wall of text but... I don't think this was reported yet.

this seems to have something do with how companions are handled by the game, and is difficult to work around, because the game was really only meant to, at most, allow for dogmeat and another humanoid companion to accompany you ( a feature scrapped at release, but which the files for still exist). With these changes to the game scripts, you'll find this gets more hit and miss the more people you have following you (in my experience anyway) it also appears to have something to do with the dialog trigger presented to you "talk vs command" however, this may also be the result of modded in companions {Heather, Vermilion Frost, ect.) as they handle these prompts differently than vanilla companions in some cases, for example not having a "I need you to do something" dialog equivalent, I'm currently working on identifying the cause myself, as it seems no one else has done so yet, but if you have any insight, let me know.
